Default I still have plants growing outside

after the 2 big snows we had. We just threw cardboard boxes over them with the last snow, which we got about 16 inches.

I went out today and picked some lettuce and spinach. I cant beleive they are still growing! Guess I"ll leave them in until they totally freeze.

We brought in a green pepper plant, guess we will see how it does inside. so far its looking good.

    Anyone else still growing?

I have cabbage, broccoli, and brussels still going strong outside. Inside I have two tomatoes fruiting, two lemons, a lime, avacados, beans, a yellow delicious flowering, apricot beginning to bud out leaves (these two are confused), and some chard in a pot as well.

We have a cabbage plant out there with little ones on it. Not sure what it will end up doing.
I was looking at our snapdragons with flowers, earlier and I think we have a red pansy out there. We have had snow several times, and some temps below 32 degrees. So not sure why we still have plants still blooming.

My 2nd crop of tomatoes is turning red, picked two the other day. I wish the birds would stop pecking them. I also have chard, carrots, and turnips, but those are cold hardy. I have one head of lettuce from my 2nd crop that didn't sprout, will be picking that soon. The garlic I planted in late August for next year is 6" high already!

It's been very mild this fall, after an early cold snap in September that had us all worried it would be a hard season. Usually we've had frost by now.

I planted leaf lettuce and spinach in August as fall crops and we're still harvesting them. Even got through the second coldest October in recorded history, one snow storm, and one weekend where the temperature never got above freezing.

    Oh!! I AM SOOOOOOO JEALOUS!!

They are saying we are going to probably have snow by tomorrow moring......UGH! Plus....cold and gloomy and yukky here today. I can take cold........WITH SUNSHINE!

I didn't plant any kind of fall crop or I would have had a few things growing for awhile.

My Hellobore is BLOOMING!! Does that count? Both of them are, but one is just going to be covered with blooms, when they all open. I love those things.......they will even peak through the snow. I should check my Witch Hazel tree as that thing usually blooms earlier than it should........supposed to bloom in about Feb. and it hasn't waited that long yet!! Has ALWAYS bloomed before Xmas!

We also had a cold snap that "killed" everything, but since then, the weather has been nice enough that the bushes & stuff are starting to bud. So, this morning was 17 degrees. Bye, Bye buds.

Outside I still have lettuce, spinach, corn, pumpkins (I'm beginning to think they are never going to turn orange!), kale, chard, herbs, zukes and patty pan squash. In the greenhouse I'm still picking tomatoes (cherry and roma's), bell peppers, stevia and basil. The only things that have gone dormant in green house so far were the eggplant and the tomatillo's but I know that the temperatures will drop soon. We will just enjoy free veggies while they last.

I am jealous too. The only thing that I have growing are two plants inside. I have got a pinneapple plant, pomegranate tree and a mushroom kit that I got through Gurney's.
