Default setting up violet plant stand for wicking

Can I put water in the bottom of the trays with the plants sitting on a rack or do I need to put the water in containers?

Not sure I understand vicki......you can have the pot sitting ABOVE the water line and then the wick going into the water AND the plant. As long as the 'feet aren't sitting in water'....should be okay. And violets don't like to have their leaves get wet....so keep the wick away from the leaves.

Hope that helped.......not sure what you were describing.
