Harvesting chilis question
I was blessed w/ about 60 red chilis. What kind? I dunno. They're red, very hot and about the size of a golf ball.
I was going to "thread them" by pushing them through a needle and thread and letting them hang to dry. As I understand it, I leave a space between each chili and tie each one off w/ a knot, so I can cut off the ones I want to use. What I CAN'T figure out is, do I push the needle and thread through the entire chili or just thru the stems? Does anyone have any experience with this?
Please help me out. I can freeze a few but I'd like to try drying them but don't want to mess it up.

If you do it through the cap, you can usually just "pop" the pepper part off (to avoid the whole tying thing).

I've tried this, mine always get mold. If yours don't, will you please let me know? I gave up chilis as I could never get it to work, and we love them.
TIA --
