Thumbs up My garden from this summer (yes...this thread is very late)

I have a youtube vid, but I don't have 15 post yet to post it.

That duck is the scarecrow. This is just one side of it.
I'll take a bunch of pics when I dig it up for 2010.

I grew: corn (only got 5 ears out of 8 stalks!), okra, potatoes, carrots (fail), tomatoes, green bell peppers, squash, cucumbers, uhhhh.....onions....uh......I think that was it. Oh yeah, watermelon. Yep, that was it.

Please do not laugh at my small watermelons. I don't know why they didn't grow.

Your vegetables all look pretty good. I can't help with the watermelon, I don't have good luck with them either.

I did notice your garden seems kind of crowded. The tomatoes, especially. Plants need a lot of space, though it does not seem like it when you plant the little seedlings. Tomatoes need 2 feet of space on either side. Melons need a yard or more.

Hope next year is better for you.

We got just a few ears of corn too. Our cantaloupe looked the size of peaches but tasted great. I just drooled looking at your cucumbers. So sad I have to wait until next summer to have a"good" one again.

    Love your scare crow!

What type of watermelons were they? Several are supposed to be really small.

Yours did better than mine! We had alot of rain/hail and a tornadoe that killed it all.

We didn't have a garden this year. Planning to fence the area to keep the dogs from helping themselves like they did the year before, and hopefully next year we'll get to have a garden again. We haven't had any luck with watermelon, green peppers, or cucumbers.
