Default Animals around the Farm ??

Not seen a thread about farm animals so here goes. I live on a small farm in Central Kentucky. We have chickens and ducks from which we get our eggs and goats that we plan to milk one day.

OUR PYGMY GOAT ( EMILY ) HAD TWO KIDS TODAY !!! Easter Kids !!

One buck and one doe. They are the prettiest thing you ever laid your eyes on. Spent a lot of time getting to know them today. What a great day to live in the country.

All of our animals are big pets and we spend a lot of time with them all. The goats got most of the attention today and I'm sure they will get even more when the kids get back this weekend. They were so excited when I called to tell them about the new babies. They wanted me to take a picture and email it to them but then we found out they took both cameras with them. Oh well, they will be even more suprised when the get to finally see how sweet they are.

Anyone else have farm animals ??

We don't have a farm, but my closest friend at work has a farm with pigs, chickens, turkeys, horses, and goats. I just love to visit her farm and wish we could have one of our own!

Moved this to the homesteading and gardening area.

No animals yet. But we will be getting chickens soon.

I live in a small city so we're limited to four hens by city ordinance (and I have 0 but the neighbor on the corner has four Rhode Island Reds).

In the future, if my current retirement dream comes true, I may be a partner/co-manager of a country inn near the Carpathians, and then we'd have some chickens, ducks, geese, guinea fowl, and/or goats.

We have chickens on our 2 acres in the country.
And 2 dogs but they are just pets
Not going to add any different critters. I think we have enough.

Currently have baby chickens and 2 more batches in the incubators. Some are for us and some will be sold.

I grew up on a dairy farm so have had plenty of animals to care for in the past. Hubby was working on a dairy farm when I met him, and again, had all kinds of animals to take care of.
Animals are a lot of work and someone has to make sure they get fed daily. If you plan on any vacations, you need to find a good caretaker while you're gone.

We have 12 chickens on our 5 acres and 2 cats. I grew up raising and butchering our own chickens and cows for food, but our chickens we have now are just for eggs.

We have 36 chickens on 23 acres, as well as 2 dogs. I agree, no more animals for me. I am the only one who takes care of them

Where I went today to buy the chickens was GREAT!!!

It was like a farm company (don't know how I could better describe it'.
My daughter came with me and it was all that I could do to keep ger from bringing a small menagerie home with us.
This place had SO MANY animals.
They had 100's upon 100's of various sorts of chickens, duck and turkeys (beautiful birds).
They also had miniature pigs, rabbits, ponies, llamas and (of all things) walibi's.
They also sold everything to do with these animals/birds.
The place was HUGE!!! Also it was located in the middle of nowhere, but we found it and really enjoyed looking around it.
Because we bought the chickens there and a load of feed etc. we got some farm fresh eggs and some wire netting (that I still needed)for free.
