I'm so excited! I finally locates someone who breeds angoras who lives within 50 miles of me! I'm wanting English and Satins. I can't wait to start spinning my own fibers! On cloud 9 here!

Angoras are a very pretty bunny, but high maintenance , in my opinion. I would think making sure that their hair does not mat would be a daily grooming, but not sure.

Have you done much research on this breed ?

I raised rabbits for 10 yrs and had as many as 150 at a time. I just could not get excited about any bunny with long hair.

Good luck. Would like to hear some updates after you get them.
    Pictures too would be great

Sounds like great news for you, Mrs. Piggy Bank. Congrats.

Don't forget to take pics of your new arrivals. Will they be babies
    or full grown bunnies?

Congrats! I got my pair in fall and am trying to figure out the spinning thing now. Most things I take to real easy, but this takes PRACTICE ugh lol.

They haven't been that much work. I keep them outdoors and just shovel out from under them once in a while straight into the garden. You can compost a bit if you want but it's not necessary. They get fed twice a day with Farm & Fleet feed, hayed and brushed cage c leaned once a week, treats of clover and dandelion when I weed, and sheared every 3-4 months.

I finally have my little buck...a cute little REW. I'm hoping to get a lilac doe soon. So far he hasn't been anything but a pleasure to have. I do groom him 2x a week & will be buying a blower soon. Here's a pic of him...

You "can" spin directly from the live rabbit I've done it for various craft shows.

I used to brush my angoras every other day -

And here is our little doe Petunia. She's about a month older than Bo. She is very friendly and loves to cuddle.

Your bunnies are adorable!! They bring back memories... when I was in my teens, my mother had 9 angoras and she spun and wove their fur. She had been spinning, dyeing, weaving, and sewing from wool since the 1960s but the angoras were her favorite. Some of her pieces sold for over $2000. They were such sweet animals too. Enjoy!!

Oh wow! I am dying to start spinning! It looks amazingly serene.
