okay heres my garden so far
i got two hanging pots of grape tomatoes, 1 hanging topsy turvy of jalepenos and yellow sweet pepper. 2 - 5 gallon tubs of green peppers
and started some tomatoe, cucumber , pole beans in cups . my husband is going to make two long tables to put along the fence to put my containers on, so i dont have to bend over (with these new hips).
and lastly i am going to use a broken baby pool to plant some green onions and leaf lettuce.
i am hoping to get in a bit of zucchini and just plant off to the side some watermellon and pumpkins.
wish me luck, if this all works it will save me oodddddles of money..
well i will keep ya posted...

You're doing great!
I gotta say, I LOVE that idea with the baby pool! I have a cracked one that the dogs used and I haven't tossed yet. I'm stealing your idea :lol

WOW! Sounds like you have a GREAT start!! Good Luck!
On the baby pool thing, I read somewhere that you can also plant potatoes in them. Can't remember all the details but I'm sure if you Google it you'll find something. Might be a good crop rotation for you!CHALLENGES:

I have planted carrots, broccoli, small head lettuce, tomatoes, yellow & red peppers, peas, watermelon and cantalope and watermelon radishes and I'm going to plant cucumber seeds and bean seeds right into the garden. I am also going to try to plant upside down cucumbers. Oh and I also have a pool and no pets to use it anymore.
I got in the mood early because of nice warm weather

I have 1 pool but you can bet I will be a pickin and a grinnin' on Friday looking for a second. Did you drill bottom holes for drainage. I think I may.

It sounds like you are just doing fantastic.
You will love it all....and yes, it does save lots of money. But the very best part is the taste!! Nothing like picking something right from your own garden and having it for dinner.

mine was already cracked on the bottom.. but i would guess put some holes in it.. i split mine in half..leaf lettuce and onions.. got me a second one to try and do romaine lettuce.. my mom used to keep a leaf lettuce bed all summer.. i cant remember how she did it, but i want to say she didnt pull it by the roots just broke it off.. i will have to look it up.
also read alot about how if you start another batch (of crops) 3 weeks and 3 weeks staggering harvest time, you get a batch of stuff all summer.. gonna try, whats the harm

Very impressive@!! Cannot wait to hear about your success!!
I keep buying seeds and planting nothing. You are definitely inspiring me!!Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.
