Ode to a squirrel
I see you in my peach tree.
I hear you laughing at me.
You ignore my dogs, three.
You won't leave my peaches be.
There few peaches left for me.
So why won't you go and eat a pecan or acorn or dog food or corn or bird seed in someone else's dadgum yard and stop eating my green peaches. You little mooch.
The End
Thank you for reading. I had to get that off my chest.

Love it! I also love squirrels. By far one of my favorite cartoon characters is Hammy the squirrel in Over the Hedge.

Tee hee, cute poem
Here we have seagulls...rats with wings. At the state park beaches they are so brazen that they will swoop down from behind and snatch whole sandwiches. This has happened twice already in the 4 months we've been here..... I feel your pain losing fruit to the squirrels, though. We had blackberry bushes at my parents house and when I was little my sister and I would go out at the first sign of berries to make sure the darn birds didn't get to them first.

Sounds like an infestation to me, target practice anyone?
Maybe you'll get lucky Christy & it'll choke on a peach pit.
Take that you rat!

I hate to admit it because you are having such a problem, but I really like the squirrels too!!
I think they call them baffels. They stop squirrels from going up the tree to eat the bird seed. I'm not sure if they would work on a large tree, but it might be worth looking into.
I, too, loved your poem!!

I like squirrels as long as they stay out of my peach tree!
Squirrels are very cute. I haven't seen that movie. I'll have to check it out.
I used to live near the Gulf of Mexico. They really are rats with wings.
Target practice with a water hose, maybe.
The squirrels are jumping from a large oak tree into the peach tree. I wish a baffle would work. I'm going to try the water hose next near.
I'm glad you liked the poem. It wrote itself. I guess frustration will do that to you!
