It's like an Asian spinach - always served at New Year's time - there's a packaged seasoning that my inlaws use with it- sooooo good. It's texture is rougher than regular greens.

I planted Kyoto mizuna as well (a while back). As far as I can tell it's in the cabbage family and not unlike kale.

Last night I weeded and picked up landscaping stones, mulched the gladiolas that are up, and planted nasturtiums.

First day in awhile with no rain........so checked on plants.

Looks like I might have lost a couple more.........BUGS.......I would guess earwigs!

My squash are sending up the female blooms so that is a good sign.

I don't have a prayer of having tomatoes by the 4th though....as I have in many years.

ROFL, that's ok, takes me a little bit sometimes to "get it" too. Yup, three radishes...added them to the salad we had for dinner that night

I'm almost done harvesting lettuce ... just a few more volunteer plants scattered around to pick. Sure is yummy though. I didn't plant anything after work last night because it started to rain on my way home - this after a completely gorgeous, sunny day till that point. Dumb rain!

I didn't do this today but I haven't been here for 2 months. Last weekend DH and I picked and I pitted 5 qts. sour cherries. This is the first year in a long time the birds have stayed away from them. We have a Catbird that has become our own border patrol. It chased away any bird attempting to steal our cherries and it only ate a handfull itself. I love that bird. Now I only hope we have one around when we move.

More strawberries. Yum! Did I mention that I love strawberries? Enough to have a big bowl for supper and some left over for freezing.

Very jealous of the berries......mine aren't in yet, and we have had so much rain and prior to that freezes; that 'word is' there won't be many strawberries that are local this year.

Thinking I had best get to the 'growers' next week to see what is there.

Surprise --surprise....we had more rain most of the day today......and more coming tomorrow.

My garden will be so late....the only good thing is I have gotten to enjoy my lettuce longer this year. It has been yummy.
