Default Seed Extraction from Annual Flowers

How to Extract Seeds From Annual Flowers for Replanting | eHow.com

My MIL showed me how to extract marigold seeds before she left this past weekend. I figured that I'd pass along an article that I found concerning extracting seeds from other annuals.

    Thanks for the info MTTB.

If I like where the flowers are at I just let them go to seed there. Go out and make sure you slap the heck out of the flowers and it's a done deal. Did that last year with my poppies......worked great. I actually broke the seed heads and sprinkled them around. The zinnias I collect.....they don't winter so well.
Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

It's funny that you mention that because she told me she'll dig a trench and just sprinkle the seeds into it in the fall before it gets too cold. I couldn't believe how many seeds were inside of the marigold head that she showed me. She says, 'If they grow, they grow. If there's too many, I pull some. If there's not enough, I plant more.'.
