Default What makes flowers stop growing and turn colors??

I planted a packet of Wildflower seeds mid-June in a large flower pot. They are only a little over an inch tall, but all the sudden they stopped growing. Also, their leaves stopped sprouting and turned a yellow-green color. I have them in a semi-sunny area and I water them very lightly each day. I water them sometimes twice daily if it is very dry out. Anyone have an idea what is going on with them?

hard to say, it could be...
too sunny for the type of flowers.
    poor soil
if they dried out, they will stop blooming, but stopping growing..

The usual culprits are: too much water, not enough water, too hot, or too cold.

Wildflowers tend to do well in poor soil, so I don't think it is that. They also do well with little water, so it may be that even though they looked dry to you, they were getting more than they needed with daily watering.

Did the leaves just turn yellow and fall off? Or did the seedlings pinch off and die just above soil level?

I might try moving them to a different spot that is less sunny. I'll give it a few days and see if they bounce back! I will also water them VERY lightly once daily. I was watering them twice daily - just enough to make the soil moist and that seemed to be doing the trick. As things have gotten busy around the house I forgot their second watering, could this really be the difference? I never have lucky growing flowers from seeds!

They stopped growing altogether, some are barely 1/4" and some are maybe at or over an inch. The leaves went from a healthy light green to a yellow color. I dont think they are dying, just lacking something right now. Are you supposed to fertilize or "feed" them once they start sprouting? I am very new to growing flowers, any more help is appreciated!

I will work on taking pictures of the flower pot and post tomorrow!

I would guess they need more sun. Is there a spot where they can get morning sun and then shade during the hot part of the day?
