    Default I have germination!!

    WOOHOO!!!!

It has been a long, hard fought, battle.......but I have some germination on the grass seed.

The birds didn't clean me out completely. (though they tried)

This is the follow up on this thread.........

    Help! Has anyone ever used......

I didn't use the CD's..........I used black plastic!! (garbage bags) And it worked! It was the pits to keep watered but I am determined to have grass there without feeding it all to the birds. Good thing it wasn't a real big area!!

They seem to feed on it in the morning. So I have been covering it at night and leaving it open..........and very well watered.........during the day. IT WORKED!!!

You know what I found works? Spreading a light layer of peat moss over the seed. I did that for the side yard and now, it's this awesome shade of light green all over the place.

I'm so happy you got yours to work!

I did that......And that is what I have always done in the past with other smaller areas that were closer to the house. And had no problems at all.

BUT.......this was out by the street......in, what had become 'their territory' over the last couple years, for their dust baths. Now that I have it started in areas, I can try to sneak in some seed in the bare patches, a little later. I was so OVER-CONFIDENT with my peat moss thing that I was starting to wonder about this project!

Leave it to mother nature to throw you a curve when you are feeling too smart!!
