    Default Garden Beds Spring Rototilled.

10 April 2011 Blueberry. Garden Beds Spring Rototilled. 10 April 2011 Blueberry. Garden Beds Spring Rototilled.

All the garden beds were rototilled today for the 2011 season.. They will be raked smooth and ready for planting when the weather warms. The ground temperature at about six inches is 8 degrees C. When the temperature is above 15C some seeds can be selectively planted.

Now that's good stuff! I can almost feel your excitement, it's been a long winter.

    Durgan,

We're having our backyard rototilled this season.

May I ask if you own or rent the rototiller? If you rent, do you feel comfortable telling me approximately the cost? Thank you.

I own an old 30 year old or more relatively large rototiller. The one shown in the picture. I bought it for about 200 dollars about 15 years ago from an ad in the paper. If the engine starts easily any second hand tiller is probably acceptable.

I have rented tillers in the past and never considered them expensive, except one needs a van for transport. I don't know the exact cost.
