Compost Bin

A compost bin is made from 4 by 4 by 8 foot lattice, held in place with standard fence posts, and tied to the post using plastic ties. This structure lasts about five years before needing replacement, due to damage and rotting of the lattice. I usually make four bins side by side. The ends are left open for turning the compost as required. When I use the chipper shredder the end is closed with another piece of lattice to limiter the blowing area. This is a relatively inexpensive system and is easily made.Durgan

Around here we use wood pallets because you can get them for free. Saves buying lattice.

I don't see how pallets are any more inconvenient than other setups.
Personally, I have a two-bin setup created from my old deck 2x4s. I'm going to redo the fronts to allow easier access. I also have a homemade tumbler, but I don't think I like it very much. It will likely be taken apart later this year.
