Not too much yet.
Pea pods for shrimp and pea pods, oh, yum! It's a new WW recipe and we both liked it so much we're having it again tonight. I think it'll freeze well, too, so will work for batch cooking.
I have some purple beans that will be ready soon. They're an interesting experiment this year, as I've never grown them before. They're supposed to turn green when cooked and look like regular green beans.
Something ate the currants, and the strawberries never seem to be around long enough to get ripe. I suspect the @#%*& raccoons.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I have new babies in my bush bean and shelling pea patches. I must have planted my shelling peas at just the right time, because the managed to germinate during the couple days we had in the 70s before the heat wave this week.
Over the weekend I harvested 3 zucchini, 2 crookneck squash, the first cucumber, a handful of raspberries, the first batch of calendula, and another round of chamomile. Most of it is already dehydrated

Planted 2 rows of zipper cream peas yesterday. Our other peas that we planted last week are breaking ground. Still harvesting okra and peppers.

Three zucchini this morning! I'm going to try an easy recipe a friend suggested to just get some cream of whatever soup with chopped zucchini going in a crockpot.
Wish I'd gotten up earlier because the chamomile needs picking again too.

I finished inventorying seeds this week and ordered what I'll need for the next couple years already! I really wanted to stock up now rather than wait because who knows what going to happen with our already wounded economy. The first batch arrived last night, but I have another order coming
Now that I'm done experimenting to see which varieties grow well for me, I narrowed it down to one variety of each veggie...and two varieties for beans and tomatoes.
I was really fascinated by the account of old school indian agriculture in Buffalo Bird Womans Garden, so I'm super excited to have found and ordered the same sunflowers and beans they grew too!

Was out picking chamomile in the rain this morning as I listened to the thunder getting closer. I came in with chamomile, calendula, and 3 more zucchini. The tomatoes literally shot up over night. The two tallest have finally made it to the top of their cages. There are suddenly beans hanging all over the place. And the first of the corn silk is adding a lovely flufy red to the three sisters garden.

Lots of zucchini, which I will blanch and freeze, patty pans, tomatoes, mostly cherry and little yellow pears. Waiting for the roma's to come in so I can make sauce and can it. Basil and dill are huge. Green peppers are coming in big time too. Hope dh's corn isn't ruined form the dry hot spell we had, it looks stunted in its growth

Today was just preserving

These are my first brined pickles, using the Lower East Side Full-Sour Dills from [ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1558323740/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=vigilant20com-20&linkCode=as2&camp=217145&creative=399369&creativeASIN=1558323740"]Amazon.com: The Joy of Pickling - Revised: 250 Flavor-Packed Recipes for Vegetables and More from Garden or Market (9781558323742): Linda Ziedrich: Books@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51nBL99%2BRRL.@@AMEPARAM@@51nBL99%2BRRL[/ame]
I'm using two half gallon mason jars and trying out the brine bag method she describes to cap mason jars. I'm not sure I had enough headspace to do it properly, but it's supposed to keep them more airtight and prevent scum from forming on top.
If all goes well, they should be done and ready to eat in two weeks. Then they'll get regular lids and go in the fridge.

Just picked a zucchini & 3! cherry tomatoes. My zucchini blooms are rotting. I will guess because of the heat & humidity. I don't know how many more I will get.....
