Calla Lily (Zantedeschia aethiopica)
10 July 2011. Calla Lily (Zantedeschia aethiopica) 10 July 2011 Calla Lily (Zantedeschia aethiopica)
Pictures of the Calla Lily bed. These are an annual and the bulbs will not survive Winter, so are dug each Fall. They are always a welcome edition to a home garden.Durgan

They are beautiful!
Pine trees, with their needles pointing up to heaven, represent everlasting light and life.

My fave flower in the whole wide world!
I finally planted some tubers (or bulbs or whatever...looked like tubers) this year, and BOY, even the first year, I'm having pretty deep pink callas. I am so excited about them, I show everyone who stops in the yard. LOL!
They are gorgeous. I'm hoping to have a really lush patch of them next year.______

Those are gorgeous durgan.......thanks for sharing.
Love the colors!!
I don't have the patience to dig them up again. Tried one in the house one time...........was only 'moderately' successful......in other words, it bloomed but was small.

Dig before the first deep frost, after they die down completely, late in the Fall.
I store in dry potting soil, which I will make this Summer, anytime now. It is very dry material, when used for storing the various bulbs. The bulbs are kept in an area just above freezing; in my case, the cold room. Disposable yard waste leaf bags work well
Potting soil is sand, some garden soil, coconut fiber, compost, and fine wood chips. Mixed to suit one's idea of good potting soil.Durgan
