    Default The chickens are feisty today!

    Is it just a coincidence that they are so crabby after laying their first eggs or are they just miserable in this heat?

    Should I be doing something to help cool them down? I was thinking dumping a bag of ice in their outdoor pen and seeing what they do with it.

    Wish I had chickens - still trying to get a coop built. Won't happen until fall at this point - the heat is too miserable and still need my flooring installed.
    Goals:
    Lose 25 lbs (exercise at least 3 times/wk/eat healthy)
    Spend less
    Save more $ in ES
    Frugal challenge
    Do three things daily
    One new recipe a week
    Prep for zombie apocalypse

    We got breeds that tolerate heat and cold well. Since we have more cold than hot here, I am hoping that they are more comfortable in the cold (they do have down jackets, after all).

    Later in the evening, when the sun set ( I almost said cooled down, but I don't know if that's true) they were their usual jovial selves. Now to go see if they gave us any eggs this morning
