Default am I the only one that is sick of.....

    Ticks!!!

I am so tired of pulling ticks off of me. I work in the ER and people find a tick on them and rush to the ER like their hand was just chopped off.
Every little bump or something makes me think I have another tick on me. I even thought a tiny mole I normally have had was just a mole. I left it alone for awhile.....then.....i realized it was a tick! UGH!!!
I will get over it but I had to vent.

My mom had a tick on her, it was trying to burrow into her ear. The doc gave her a round of antibiotics and tested the tick, and it turns out it tested positive for lymes. Thank goodness for the preventitive antibiotics, but still because of her health we have to keep an eye on it. My son had a tick on him, too, but it was still crawling when we found it, it hadn't burrowed yet. Yes, I am sick of ticks this year. It seems like it's a worse year for them.

Thanks for listening. I feel kinda silly ranting about ticks. Its summer.....but oh well. We had such a harsh winter, you would think they would have died out some. They are just bad! I want to believe all of God's creatures have a purpose.....but a tick!!

We have not had the daily pulling off of ticks this year. We have only found about 20 ALL season on pets and people. Much better than last years. We are rural and have tons of woods, shrubs, berries bushes etc so tick haven.

I'm very vigilante as I have had several bouts with lymes and still have issues. Ds has had it, 2 of the dogs despite the vaccines.

I think either the extreme heat has cut down on the ticks or the chickens are eating them.

I hate ticks too. They are unbelievable this year! DH just found another one on himself yesterday. This year they all have gone for my head. Have pulled off at least a dozen so far. I can't wait for them to be over!

Or a grasshopper! They have destroyed my garden this year. They were bad last year, too, but between the late spring & tons of rain my garden never had a chance.

Yes definitely be diligent. I had one on my neck that left a place and my neck and shoulders were extremely swollen, hot, with a rash. It was like that for 2 of 3 weeks. I had to take an antibiotic for a bacterial infection and get some sort of shots..2.

I had a tick on me after vacation. I just brushed my back because it was itchy and the tick fell off. I have no idea where I got it, or how long it was on me. The area did swell for a couple a days and itch. But it's better now.
