    Default Green Pepper Harvest

6 August 2011 Green Pepper Harvest 6 August 2011 Green Pepper Harvest.

Half a bushel of large, perfect green peppers were harvested for five plants. There will be more fruit later, since many more blossoms are present. There is no scaring and absolutely no worm damage. I will make juice mixing with cucumbers and tomatoes.

I didn't plant any peppers this year.I don't use alot of green ones so when I do grow them I wait until they turn red,to harvest.I love roasted red peppers so I just roast them on the BBQ and then freeze.
Now that I see how well yours are doing I am going to kick myself when I have to buy them this year.Oh well, there is always next year.
    Enjoy yours,they look wonderful.

I absolutely LOVE GREEN PEPPERS. I have absolutely NO WHERE to grow any veggies. I can eat green peppers plain or with salt or with Italian or Ranch dressing. I am very envious I you.

Beautiful pepper harvest! Mine do not get that big, and we eat them as soon as they are big enough.

I do have one banana pepper plant that has produced at least 2 dozen peppers already.

Great harvest. Didn't plant any thing this year. I bought a basket of green peppers last week at the farmers market for $2.50. I think I got about 10 peppers. Made stuff peppers with it. One of my families favorite meals.

I always feel the a grower doesn't get enough for his produce. I have bought a bushel for 15 dollars, which even at the time I considered I was stealing.

Incidentally to insure vigorous growth, I mix a cup of vinegar in a liter of water and give each plant the mixture periodically to insure the soil is acidic. A pepper plant cannot take up nutrients unless the soil pH is low.

I agree with happymommyof4 in that we make the stuffed peppers and freeze them in batches to take out for a quick meal on a busy day--yummy !
