Default My little trio of tomaotes made my heart sing!

I feel very blessed to be able to really enjoy the simple things. So going out this morning and picking my first 3 little maters just made my day! I had to share with those that would understand. :-)

Those look good. I understand completely how you feel. This is the first year I've had good land for tomatoes and I'm loving it.

That is on purpose, I promise. lol They are 2 different varieties though I cannot remember the names. I bought the plants as little babies at the farmer's market earlier this year.

The yellow are Dr. Carolyn and the red are sweet million. I have only eaten the one yellow and it was mixed with some other ingredients. I am looking forward to the next batch which will include several of them so that I can just eat them on their own and really get a good feel for the flavors. I do know the yellow was very sweet and very tasty. :-)

CONGRATS.........and I can so totally relate to this.

And with the horribly wet spring we have had........we had best celebrate ANYTHING from the garden.

Your side of the mtn. has been much cooler than we have.........but mine were about 6 weeks late.

I was thrilled yesterday to be making my first batch of salsa!!

MMMmmm salsa!! I am thinking of growing enough tomatoes next year to be able to do that.

So tell me Franny...do you go for a sweet or spicy kind of salsa?

I like the spicy........a little bite to it. Don't like the sweet AT ALL. Won't even use a recipe if it has sugar in it.

I have tried the Mrs. Wages -mild--it is pretty good. And watch the stores at the end of season and the price can drop to 'reasonable'...right now it is a stupid price. I found it at Winco for under a buck a package..............can't buy the spices for that.
