    Default Redhaven Peach Tree

26 August 2011 Redhaven Peach Tree 26 August 2011 Redhaven Peach Tree

There is one peach tree in the garden. This year it produced about 30 quality fruit. A tree ripened peach is a real pleasure to eat. My view is this is the only way to eat peaches if at all possible. This tree was planted in May of 2008, purchased in a pot from a supplier.

Wow Durgan,I love the look of that tree.Beautiful peaches,I bet they taste amazing.I am close to Woodstock,do you think that tree would be alright to grow here? I know I am not far from Brantford, but being a little more north than you are,I don't know if it would survive! Thanks for any info.

I have seen peach trees thriving outside of London. I love this little tree. I do give it a five gallon pail of water periodically, and mulch around the roots. In your case it is worth a try growing the tree. It takes little room.

I was thinking that you had to have two peach trees beside each other to help pollinate or something I was told. Maybe it was a different tree I am thinking about.

I also have a redhaven - got 15 peaches on my second year tree. Deelish. Made peach jam. This tree seems to be thriving. It's a dwarf and will get 8-10' high and wide. Perfect for my yard.

We don't see many peach trees in our vicinity, and the reason must be that they don't necessarily grow well. If you have a nice area it is probably worth a chance. During the season one has to go closer to Lake Ontario to buy peaches. There are non around Simcoe and vicinity. Take a chance, well worth it if they thrive. Pears will do well in our areas.
