Potatoes
12 September 2011 Potatoes 12 September 2011 Potatoes.
Potatoes were dug today after all the vegetation had died off. This was not my finest moment, since my expectations are from 4 to 8 pound per plant. Total was about was about 50, to 60 pounds, where I usually get around four hundred pounds plus from about 80 plants. We had a very wet Spring and all my early potatoes rotted in the ground. It was necessary to replant, then July was very dry.
It was observed that the tubers are misshapen when drought is prevalent.
However with all the weather problems, the quality of the few produced are acceptable. My requirements are probably less than 50 pounds per year. But I expect an abundance.Durgan

Still seems great that you able to grow your own produce. To bad you didn't get a mishapped potato you could send to late night.
