    Default First Fall Frost 2011

24 October 2011. The first significant Fall frost for 2011 appeared for the first time in my area Zone 5. Approximately 150 days frost free for the season. Winter is slowly creeping in my direction.

We had a light frost last week, tomorrow the high is in the 30's and we are suppose to get 8-12 inches of snow, starting tonight. The low is going to be around 17 so I guess that will be our first real frost. Winter is here, this zone 5 is done for the year.

We got our first 'hard freeze' last night too.........and the next
two nights are predicted for it.

that means the 'WHITE STUFF' can't be far behind and they are saying we are in for YET ANOTHER La Nina winter..........which means TONS of snow............last year we had one too.........SEVEN FEET of snow.

This past weekend we had a frost warning in effect. I still have tomatoes in my garden so they were put into my "greenhouse". It was warm inside so maybe my tomatoes and green beans will last a little longer.
It is cold here in the mountains of VA. I guess winter is coming!!

That is so crazy to me that you guys are getting snow! That's at least six weeks off for us in Chicago.
