    Default Icers

    4 December 2011 Icers 4 December 2011 Icers

There is usually ice on sideways and parking lots in my area most of the Winter. When going outside, I use a special pair of boots with icers installed. Walking about five km every morning, I have never slipped, when wearing this type of studded device.
Note: There are about 30,000 emergency hospital visits each year in Canada due to people falling, mostly on icy streets. Most people never wear icers. You figure.

Thanks for the public service announcment! Luckily mine were on a high shelf and made it through the flood, they give me such peace of mind wearing them since I know if I fall it is never just a little thing.

I have been given a pair of Yak Trax, they slip over regular shoes and offer really good traction especially in parking lots. Easy to pop in the car glove box (I keep them in a plastic bag so they aren't wet all over stuff after using them.)

Be careful out there folks! Tis the season!

Electric Usage Challenge (doing well, under $70 most months)

Yah, I suck at this money stuff, I know. That's why I'm here.

Yak Trax are extremely slippery on terrazzo floors also smooth ice. I tried all types over the last four years and in my opinion they must be the stud type.
