Default Any one ever used Earth Boxes?

Due to the economy my bf and I are looking to start growing some of our own vegetables. While we were in the hardware store we saw some Earth Box containers. When we got home we researched them.

They are a rectangular container with a 3-4 gallon water reserve in the bottom, they have wheels on the bottom to wheel them in and out of the house/garage to extend the growing season and a cover to keep the water from evaporating and the rain from washing the dirt out.

A little pricey to start but I think in the long run we will be head. We are looking for any information in case any of you have ever used them or know someone who has.

    Thanks for your help!!!!

I use them all the time - have for over ten years - and I love them. They are great for most veggies, including squash, tomatoes, brussels sprouts, peas, lettuces, etc. I have found that melons don't do so well, nor does corn or root veggies. (Carrots were "eh".)

Someone (I think it was Spirit Deer?) posted how to make your own Earthboxes using the big kitty litter buckets. If you are looking for a lower-cost alternative (and you have access to empty kitty litter buckets) you could give that a try.
