    Enlarging the Vegetable Gardening Area 8 by 36 Feet. Annotations are on bottom left of photos.

    30 April 2006 Addition to Vegetable Garden 8 by 36 Feet 30 April 2006 Garden Addition
    Sod Removed using kick sod cutter, Spaded and rototilled.

    3 May 2006 Adding Compost 3 May 2006 Adding Compost
    4 May 2006 Adding compost 4 May 2006 Adding compost
    Compost added and worked in.

    5 May 2006 Enlarged Bed Completed. 5 May 2006 Enlarged Bed Completed.

    7 May 2006 Fiber addition 7 May 2006 Fiber addition.
    Fiber: Covering of wood chips. Sod put through chipper/shredder and worked in (no pictures for the chipper operation). The chipper/shredder effectively kills completely all grass roots.

    30 June 2006 Vegetables in Enlarged Bed 30 June 2006 Vegetables in Enlarged Bed
    Planted area to indicate the success of the new garden bed.

    Wow,alot of work there and beautifully done.I am amazed at the size of your lot,being in town it looks huge.

    I am bounded by 7 houses. The lot is not a rectangle, but hard to discern at a glance.The lot is probably the bit that was left over from the surveying and not big enough for another house, much to my advantage. It is about 0.4 of an acre. But there are several very large lots in this subdivision and all that is grown is grass. Gardening is almost a lost art in Canada, amongst the general population.
