I have a nesco, although not the same model. My only issue with it is that the fruit trays warp quite a bit. I dry apple sauce to make fruit leather and it is really hard to spread evenly when the trays are no longer flat.

Give some pointers on the fruit leather based on your experience.

I have the foodsaver, I use it almost everyday. I love it for freezing fruits.

My thoughts are that you will likely wish you went for a bigger dehydrator, and likely a square/rectangular model. I say that because I know I wish I did, and most people I know who use dehydrators say the same thing.

I should really see if I can get re-usable tray liners for fruit leather (also spaghetti sause and the like). Right now, I use parchment paper, but it's a pain to cut it to fit the trays, hence wishing I had a rectangular model.

Regardless, mine has served me well, as I'm sure yours will too. I'd also recommend getting a simple plug in timer, such as you would use for Christmas lights or similar. After a few batches of similar foods, you should be able to figure out how long it takes and set the timer accordingly. Nice features on the one you bought are the adjustable temperature and included tray liners.

Don't have the models you posted but I love both of mine.
Have the brands.........just not that model.

With the dehydrator, I went on ebay (years ago) and bought the fruit leather trays cheaper than I could buy them from the co.

You have a great expansion in the dehy (100 trays???).........so you might want to look for trays........or watch sales at stores that carry that brand.

Am sure that you will enjoy them both......and I have had much less food waste since getting them.

PS........if you do onions in the dehyd. be SURE to do it OUTSIDE.........they dehydrate great but the smell is something else!! I do all my dehydrating in my garage.

Default Food Saver. V2490 Vacuum Sealer

25 January 2012 Food Saver. V2490 Vacuum Sealer 25 January 2012 Food Saver. V2490 Vacuum Sealer

The food saver was put to use vacuum packaging my pilot bread. The food saver is a marvelous device, I should have bought one years ago.

After packaging the bread, I wanted to seal a mason jar, but didn’t have the proper adaptor, so by accident had a large flour container, upon which the supplied canister adaptor fit perfectly. The mason jar with screw top lightly in place was vacuum pumped. The mason jar sealed perfectly. This device will be ideal for all sizes of mason jars without having to purchase adaptors with different mouth sizes.
