What kind of "strange" ways do you eat fresh produce from your garden?
I eat leaf lettuce sandwiches and everyone thinks I'm bonkers
but it is really good, (a pile of leaf lettuce, some mayo, some salt, on 2 pieces of bread) and I can't wait every year for the lettuce to be ready. Yum!
Anyone else have "strange" produce-eating habits or am I the only one that's bonkers???

My mom eats radish/onion/butter sandwiches.
I eat peas raw- just shell them and eat them like peanuts. I've been known to eat potatoes raw too- just dig under the plant, grab a potato, dust it off and eat it.
I eat squash blossoms- not exactly produce per se' , but I batter them and fry. Yummy!

not me but my Mom and Dad's old dog,(an Irish setter) use to eat the corn on the cob right off the stalk. he would rip the whole plant down and eat the corn. My dad then started to just feed him some every day so he wouldn't rip up the corn.

I haven't been very successful in the garden, but I LOVE tomato sandwiches (on toast w/ a little salt) I LOVE lettuce sandwiches too (w/ a little mayo) and cucumber and bean sprout sandwiches with a little mayo...... doesn't seem weird to me at all !!!!!!!! My family thinks it is though.....

Not me, but my former neighbor/ adopted grandma always ate onion sandwiches in the summer. Big slices of vidalia onions with butter on white bread.

OK now, peanut butter and onions sounds pretty bad.
Veggie sandwiches are awesome! And we usually end up eating most of the peas while shelling them. They taste better raw!
Squash blossoms? Hmmmmmmmmmmm

I love to eat peas fresh from the garden, tomato sandwiches, sliced turkey or chicken wrapped in lettuce leaves with a bit of mayo and salt, and even tender green beans raw. Oh and tomatoes with a bit of salt are great!

I eat tomatoes, lettuce and watermelon with salt on them. Or I used to. trying to cut down on salt since high blood pressure/cholesterol runs in the family. But they are still yummy!
