Question How do you store your gardening tools?

Do you leave them wherever they are, throw them in your shed or do you take proper care of them before storing them?

We don't have many gardening tools because we've found you only need a few basic ones, but we do take care of them. They are hung in the shed, off the floor ready for use next year.

Because we have so few and don't want to have to purchase any in the new year, we always make sure they are stored right and out of the snow. One year, the snow came before we got it done and I ended up with rusty tools.

How about you, where do you store them and how?

I don't have all that many tools yet. Some of ours are hanging, some are in the garage closet, and some are just sitting in a planter in the garage. I think my bulb planter is still on the enclosed porch too.
We already lost a mini rake.

We store them in the barn. My rakes, hoe, claw are hanging up and my small "down in the dirt" tools are in a wooden box up on the bench. I'll still be needing them all for a month or so but I put them away clean and ready to go for next year. Not to say that I've never lost any though....last year Delaney thought the rake would make cool designs in the snow!! Guess where I found it this spring!

Mine each have their own hooks in a shed near the garden by the house. They get hung there year round when not in use (rather than hanging on the garden fence during a rain)

At the end of the season- we check them over for needed repairs, oil them and hang them up for next spring.
