Question What does prairie mean to you?

The question of the hour on the radio right now is "what does prairie mean to you".

Many of you live on the prairies, so what does it mean to you if you do, or even if you don't.

Probably to mean it means "wide open spaces". You? I do love the prairies!!!

Wide open spaces was the first thing that popped into my head!! Also because I think of Little House on the Prairie I think quiet, simple, serene. (with hard work harvesting all those wheat fields)

To me it's acres and acres of grasslands, with only slightly rolling hills, a small amount of water in sight and cattle grazing here and there (cuz that's what our area looks like and I've always thought of it as the prairie).

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~
