who's raking?
We did a ton of raking this past week. How are your leaves picked up? Here in our strange little city. They have everyone rake the leaves into piles into the street. A trash truck with a kinda giant dustpan in the back gets the leaves swept into it by a sweeper with a giant scoop on the front. lol
They used to have a leaf vacuum truck. lol
This only goes on suring fall leaf pickup time and if you snooze you lose and have to bag it. The bag process is odd too. You must buy these brown leaf bags and purchase stickers that have to be stuck onto the bag.
I'd like to have a little compost pile going, but not sure where yet.If you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online. We just mow our leaves into the yars, such that it is.

Our first batch of leaves, I used the lawn mower with the grass catcher on. I save those leaves to use for mulch on my perennials.
This batch of leaves we have now, I'll mulch them into the grass with the lawn mower.
The next batch (we get the ones from the park across the street), I'll have the kids rake them and they will go in my composter.

No raking here...I have to pay to bring them to a public works place that is only open on certain days. Not worth it to me

The leaves are mulch for the grass.
Sara, in the town I used to live in , they did it the same way your town does, with us raking them into the street and workers coming by with a truck.
