I saw the neatest thing today.........
I was outside on the playground with my class at school and I noticed a butterfly. It kept fluttering around. I kept watching and was telling the kids to look at the butterfly. Well, we saw over 100 butterflies flying over headed south. I was amazed because I have never saw butterflies migrate south for the winter. We are suppose to get a cool front tonight and it was weird to sit there and watch all those butterflies. I was more amazed than the kids.

Wow...that must have a beautiful site, Michelle...I love butterflies. There is something so special about them. It's little things like these that make life beautiful, don't you think?

I love watching the Monarchs fly through. Somedays if you watch close you can see hundreds of them clusterd on bushes here.
I hope to put in a butterfly garden! (as well as an orchard and veggie garden!

I think they are all heading south and quickly because of the arctic air that is coming down into the states early this year. I have a feeling this is going to be a long and cold winter. Smart and beautiful butterflies!!!

When we lived in the Mojave (Ft. Irwin), we saw a few migrations of them, I remember once in the back dirt roads there was one time so many caterpillars out there once it looked like the ground itself was moving. It was amazing to see so many.
