    Default Finally started getting eggs

from our chickens!! Out of the 8, only 2 are laying. DH had some old windows leaned up against the coop, and there were about 18 of them piled up between the glass and the coop. So I've been hunting everyday, and have been finding 2 a day since then. DH put one of those pastic dog houses in the coop and one has been laying in there- another one made a nest in the grass clippings in the compost pile.

We ate some yesterday, and I can't believe how hard the shells are compared to store bought, and how orange the yolks are!! The whites also seem to be alot fluffier when cooked too. I can't believe the difference...

Enjoy those country fresh eggs! Don't you just love the "rush" you get from gathering your very own eggs and knowing they are better than any store-bought!
