Got the gardening blues. *LOL*
This time of the year (seed planting) I get the gardening blues. Tell me about your seeds if you have them bought or started indoors yet.
I haven't planted in two years and miss it. I could do container gardening this year, so I won't pout too much.

We started our herb garden indoors 2 weeks ago this Tuesday. So far everything has sprouted and is growing nicely. We have basil, oregano, chives, and a green pepper plant (which we'll plant outside when the weather is nicer).
We have some other seeds that we want to start growing in my fil's greenhouse: morning glory, shasta daisies, zucchini, cucumbers, and tomatoes. I am really looking foward to gardening this spring/summer.

I could not wait to get started-I have been apartment bound for 3 years. I started spinach and red peppers inside on Saturday, and have 10-12 packets of everything from jalepenios to sunflowers that will be started over the next few weeks.

You guys have inspired me to start some indoor herbs. I have such low light here, I may need a grow light.
Chelle, keep me updated on your herbs. I am wondering if I will kill mine. *LOL*

I have been saving egg cartons for months to start seeds in.
Haven't had as much luck saving seeds
It's still up in the air whether or not I'll have a garden. We may or may not move in the spring to a larger house. That house's backyard has very little sun, so if we move I'll have to container garden.
If we stay here, I'll have a huge garden, with every veggie I can think of.
(I wish I'd started berries when we first moved in!)

I tore up a big patch of grass on our second lot and planted my spinach today--I wasn't sure about planting so early, but everyone swears that the spinach needs it. I think I got a bad packet of red pepper seeds-not one that I started inside 2 weeks ago has sprouted.

We plan to have a medium garden this year. It gets to windy to plant small pots of things and they dry out too fast here.
I never thought of using egg cartons as seed starters! I have saved a lot for my neighbors when their chickens are laying heavy but now I will use them for seed starters. I haven't gotten my seed yet, ordered from gurneys 3 weeks ago. I will still have enough time, just get anxious. Thanks for the tips."Success on any major scale requires you to accept responsibity."

This year, check your Walmart and grab their peat pellets when they clearance them. They are compact, easy to store, cheap...I paid 50 cents for 25 pellets last year...and you have them and can start seeds indoors very early if you want!

I do more flowers than food. I need to loose weight and I know I won't eat the flowers, lol.
I am going to start about 20 or 30 sunflower plants this weekend anywhere from 3 to 7ft. Should be beautiful!
