What do you like most about the homesteading lifestyle?

I guess I would have to say for us is being as self sufficient as we can be and the learning process to do so.

I also love the simplicity of homesteading and although sometimes its hard work, its a good kind of work.

What about you?

I love not having to try to keep up with the "Jones". I also enjoy eating things that have come from our garden or I have made from scratch. You know, the more "worldy" things that have come into our home, the more problems we have had. That's something to think about!

I like knowing I'm controlling my own life and that I'm not a mindless consumer of the things large corporations want me to have. It's like making a stand and saying (silently) that my life is not the same as everyone else's.
I like the simplicity of it all. The carrying out of tasks that have been done by women for centuries. It connects me with what's gone before.
And if not for this lifestyle I would not have found this site with all you lovely ladies.

I think for me, it is knowing that I am making a difference for my family. Not so long ago I was the one who wanted to live the fast life. Michael has commented more than once when I do something, that he never thought he'd see me doing that. LOL

I love the feeling me & my hubby get by not having to rely on others. Gloating after a job well done by the 2 or 4 of us is the best! Hard work does have it's rewards!
