Down on the Homestead - Feb. 8 - 14th
Good morning everyone. The sun is shining and its suppose to get to -2C here today. Already I can feel the heat from the sun.
Today is suppose to be a rest day for me, but we need to finish putting up the gyproc in the kitchen and then I need to put a few things away.
I plan on reading after that. The fibromyalgia has flared up big time and I'm not feeling all that well.
Have a great day everyone.

CJ i was just doing a quick check in, I will pray for you and sending warm hugs.
Good morning and a happy Sunday to all, hope all you ladies have a good day.
I'm heading off to church, dd and ds took me out to see Lord of the Rings, the 3 rd part last night. I loved it, but I"m going to take it really slow for a day or two, one late night tends to throw me a bit.
I'll get back to posting up a storm on Wed.
Just gotta say between Sew Crafty's tutorial stuff and CJ's blouse posts I'm actually starting to want to sew again for fun. I haven't sewn for any reason than necessity in many years-- I think it's been quite a while that sewing was a necessary chore. Feels like fun again!
I'm rediscovering my inner sewing machine!

Hi gals,
~CJ, I hope you are feeling up to par soon!
~Marg, I'll keep you in my thoughts that you are feeling not off again soon I love to read your posts so rest up! But what a fun thing to have gone to a movie!
Well, I have been heavy at it this am 2 loads washed and pumpkin mufins made. I have eaten 3 already! Yikes I must stay away.
Today we need to cut a bit more wood. Our furnace is still acting up and we have had it looked at 4 times since we got it. It is only 5 years old.
I'm not sure what I'm going to be making for dinner. Something that has a salad with it. I have lettuce that needs to be eaten. I also need to do a bit of cleaning. Yuck. Dusting is a never ending job with the wood heat. When Alex starts drawing happy faces on the t.v. screen it is time to dust. LOL
Have a great day all!

CJ and Margery, I hope you both feel better soon. Rest!!!
Not too much going on today. We walked to church this morning, came home and had soup and fresh bread for lunch and now everyone is quietly doing their own thing. Once I'm off the computer I'm going to read on my bed and maybe even take a nap.
Hope everyone is having a relaxing day!~ Tina ~

Feel better soon CJ!!
Trying to rest some this Sunday. DH will be leaving in the morning for Oklahoma and should be back Fri. morning or Thursday night.
I think he has everything packed and ready to go.
DS#1 is helping with supper tonight. I did manage to give 4 haircuts today to DH and all 3 of the boys.
I clipped my coupons and filed them away for my next grocery trip.
Hope you are all having a relaxing Sunday.~*Michelle*~

Hi All,
We went to church this morning and then out to lunch. We were listening to "Cheaper by the Dozen" on audio tape on the way up and back. We are really enjoying it. I did fall asleep on the way home and then upon our arrival at home, promptly crawled into bed and took a much needed nap!
Right now I'm researching places to stay for next weekend. We are desperately needing a weekend away with the kids.

Good morning all!!
I hope you are feeling a bit better today CJ!
And that everyone got their much needed rest.
This morning I've got dishes to do, I'm making squares for a lady up town who lost her husband and taking them to her with some other goodies this afternoon. There were areas on our kitchen floor that needed "refreshed" so yesterday DH and Dylan sanded the areas down. Dylan and I are going to stain it and then put a coat of varnish over the whole thing. It's maple and looks lovely when it's all done but I find that it wears really fast.
Laundry is on the list to for today.....bedding and comforters are being done.
Have a great day!!

Good morning everyone. Its suppose to be 0 here today and warmer even during the week. My heat continues to go down a bit each day.
Its laundry day here and I need to bake bread. If I can get those 2 done, I'll be doing well. I had forgotten what pain is, has the fibromyalgia had been in remission for quite some time. Its full blown right now, so if you don't see me a whole lot here, you know I'm resting.
Have a good day everyone.

hugs and prayers CJ, thinking of you. A bit of laundry, and I'm making an easy freezer friendly cottage cheese quiche (the breakfast one that I bake in a long pan and cut in squares and wrap and freeze). Some for dinner, some for breakfast.
Calico, you changed your quilt avatar. I like the new one, but don't lose that last one either, it was so pretty, it needs taking out and showing off once in a while. I like looking at both of them. They are really lovely.
Everyone who pops in, I hope you have a fine day today.

I slept in this morning, it felt so good to sleep until I wanted to get up.
Today I need to work on decluttering my sewing room some more.
I need to bake some bread and make a batch of cookies for the week.
I am going to the libray sometime today.
Have a great Monday everyone.

Good morning!
It's a busy day here. Dh found some work; 2 hours today and a couple hours tomorrow. We're thankful for all the hours he can get. So, I have to drive the boys around to their different classes. In between driving I need to start on the mountain of laundry, make supper so I can pop it in the oven before taking ds#2 to class, sweep the floors, clean the bathroom sink and toilet, and bake bread and muffins. The bread making will need to wait till this evening so I'll be home longer. Oh yeah, I also need to pay bills and return some phone calls.
That's about it; I can't wait for evening to arrive so I can rest.
Hope you all have a great day!~ Tina ~

CJ
Marcia~hopefully there will be lots more work coming yoru hubby's way
Kathy~sleeping in feels so good!
This morning Jaysn had Driver's Ed and I went over to pick up the boys. We then went to our writing class and then came home to get some work done around here. I also put in a call to my doctor's office to see if I could get another round of Diflucan for a rather nasty yeast infection. I've already had all the blood work and other stuff done to rule out diabetes, female problems, etc.. My doctor and I agree that it has been caused by all the stress in my life for the past 6 months. I'm now taking acidopholis, cranberry extract, vitamin C and a few other things and watching my diet. I just want this gone!!!!
I hope to hear back from the doctor's office this afternoon and have them call in a perscription for me so hubby can pick it up and I won't have to run back into town. Between the infection and breaking out in acne all over (another one of my lovely reactions to stress), I'm not feeling really well at the moment.
I have a big pork roast in the crockpot and the house is smelling wonderful!!! I can't wait for dinner time!
All I need to do is make some rice to go with it and a vegi, slice some apples and we have a great dinner. yumm!
Oh yes, I still need to make reservations for a weekend get-away for hubby, the kids and I. We are going to a hotel on Lake Chelan for the weekend. The kids can't wait to go swimming and hot tubbing. I just can't wait to get away just with my family, no telephone calls, no visitors, and no nutso dog or cats visiting me in the middle of the night.
The hotel is wonderful! We get a suite for under $100 a night and that includes breakfast and a soup and salad dinner. We have our won bedroom and the kids share the lvingroom. There is a kitchenette in each unit, so we have a little fridge, microwave and sink area. The view of the lake is fantastic and very calming for me. I'm so looking forward to this!

Sending prayers and hugs that you will soon be feeling so much better. Please rest!
As for us, we are running out of wood, so every chance Mel gets he has to go cut some. He also put me up another big metal shelving unit in the basement and cleaned and reorganized quite a bit there.
I am trying to get started on the mystery quilt but Ryan is having on average 3 hours homework a night that I have to help her with so there just isn't much me time. I've been continuing to clean out my closet and make a big Goodwill pile. I am continuing to try and plan where my plants will go come Spring.
