Down on the homestead - Feb. 22 - 28th
Good morning everyone. I can't believe this is the last week in Feb. Unreal how time flies by so fast.
Today is suppose to be a day of rest for me, but I need to bake bread. I sent dh to the store yesterday and they only had a couple loaves of bread in the store. I plan on baking up some muffins while I'm at it.
After I'm finished that, I'm going to try to finish the apron I'm making and start on another one. I also want to cut out the material for the tote bag tutorial Dee did.
I also would loke to get the friendship blocks started and finished by the end of this week.
Hope you have a good one, down on your homestead.

Good morning!
We lost out power yesterday afternoon and it just came back on this morning. We turned on our oil lamps, snuggled under quilts and blankets and had a great night talking. We all went to bed early and woke to still no power. It came on shortly after we got up.
I was going to spend the day cutting and sewing but may not get to that until the end of the day.
Will be doing laundry for DH, baking and getting meals ready for him to take in the truck. Delaney is feeling better today and I'll be helping her work on a project....yup, grade one and they have projects. The guys are going to be out in the barn cleaning stalls.
Have a great day!

Wow! what a week last week.
God bless Michael, he tried so hard to keep up on everything while I was gone. He called me one night and told me he didn't know how I did it. "I never realized how much you did!" were his exact words. LOL
Today on the agenda,
~ I'm going to attack the mountain of laundry that I have.
~ Dust, dust, and more dusting! (love the wood stove, hate the dust)
~ I'd like to make some lunch food for the week.
~ plan my Girl Scout meeting for tomorrow. (Having trouble getting into the G/S web site)
~ I'm going to a friend's house and she is going to get me started on some crocheting! I friend had extra needles and she gave me a couple so I just bought some yarn.
~ oh and some where in there I'd like to relax. LOL
Have a great day ladies!
Great to be back!

It's laundry on the list for me today. I have piles of it to do. I have to get to the grocery store for a few things too. I want to get some sewing done also and I have a couple of things to get listed on ebay. I havent decided what I am doing for dinner yet. I really have not been in the mood to cook lately so I need to get motivated.

Beautiful sunny, Sunday here. The boys have been outside enjoying the sunshine. Except for Richard of course, who is still in his bed. He woke up and ate and went back to bed. Teenagers!
I have laundry on my list of things to do as well. I have already scrubbed the shower and the tub in our bathroom.....2 separate units. If you wanted to...someone could take a bath while someone showered. The bathroom is huge to say the least.
I cleaned the kitchen...scrubbed the counters down and bleached a few items. I wanted it clean!
I still need to finish laundry and clip and file coupons.
I am reading a really good book that I would like to sit down and read more of today.
Of course, I have to watch Nascar today!
I hope you all have a wonderful day on your homesteads.~*Michelle*~

Good morning everyone. Its kinda dull here today, not sure what the weather is going to do. Its already -2C though and suppose to get to 0. By the middle of the week, its suppose to be +4C. The snow is starting to melt a bit which I don't mind at all. The other day, when we went for a ride, we see 2 porcupines which is unheard of here in Feb. Hopefully, thats a sign of an early spring.
Today is going to be a busy day here. I'm making jam so that I can finished the jam tutorial and get the pictures developed on Friday. Then I'm also wanting to work more on the quilting mystery tutorial so I can pictures developed of that as well on Friday. Will be going into Brandon for groceries and they do the CD's while I get groceries.
Its also laundry day here so I need to get that started. I'm a bit late this morning, didn't have a good night last night and ended up sleeping in this morning.
Have a great day everyone on your homestead.

Goodmorning!!!
It's still early here, about 7:30 a.m. PST and we've already accomplished quite a bit here. We got all the garbage taken out and down to the curb to be picked up, one load of laundry hanging out and and other in the wash, watched the morning news and checked the weather forecast. Jaysn is at Driver's Ed and the twins are now eating breakfast. We are supposed to get rain starting tomorrow for the rest of the week, so I am trying to get all the sheets washed and out to dry today. Chris wanted to know when we are getting a new dryer and I said a month or more. I thought he was going to fall over. Then I realized that he has never been without a dryer in his life and didn't realize that people actually could live without them. He was very concerned that we would not be able to get our clothes dry later this week when it rains. I told him that is what the drying racks are for and I think he is finally starting to believe me this morning.
For school today we have got to get the boys reports done. They are due on Wednesday and one of my children is behind on his work. He will be working on it today and tonight to get it done along with the rest of his schoolwork.
I'm hoping to get some tomato seeds going today along with some broccolli. I want to get a jump on things so that they will be ready to go in the garden. I'm craving garden fresh vegis. The stuff we get at the store just is not the same.
Be blessed all and have a wonderful day!!!!

A start of a new work week for me. I went to work, but didn't stay long. I have been having some pain in the my right, upper abdomen that keeps bothering me. The nurse said I need to go to the dr., but I decided to come home to lay down instead.
Needless to say, I am not doing much today. Just lounging! around.
CJ, I can't wait for the jam making tutorials. I have always wanted to know how to make it myself.
DH has a fire chief's meeting tonight in another town, so he will be eating dinner there. I only need to fix something for me and the boys.~*Michelle*~

Good morning everyone. I woke up to hoar frost on the trees this morning. It was so pretty. Its now gently falling off the trees. The sun is peaking out and its suppose to be 0 again today. Woo hoo!!
Today I need to finish laundry and get yesterday's folded and put away.
I'm almost finished the one apron. Its taking a long time because there is so much fancy work to is. Need to finish Calico's apron today and then get it in the mail.
I made 12 pints of jam yesterday and finished the jam tutorial. I'll get the pictures done on Friday and then finished the jam tutorial over the weekend. Then next week, I'll start on a jelly tutorial (almost the same in the making, but not quite).
I also want to work a bit more on the second quilt mystery tutorial today.
Not sure what were having for supper yet, possibly spaghetti. Will see.
Have a great day everyone.

Good morning ladies!
It is a cold, rainy day here today. I opted not to go into work today because of my aches and pains. I do feel somewhat better today than yesterday though.
I need to get my apron swap finished and in the mail soon.
I also have a few things I want to work on at home today. I am committed to finishing the year at work and then staying home next school year. If I can accomplish some of my goals I have planned for myself, I know I will be able to do this. I may end up working part-time subbing for a while for extra income, but I shouldn't need to work full-time.
It is funny because DH has not been getting anywhere near the hours he used to get and we just knew we needed that money to survive. We were talking about it the other day and can not figure out how we still have money in our pockets and all the bills are still being paid on time. We haven't had to ask for financial help once. I just knew we would have to break down and ask within a month's time, but things have been going really well.
I only have one load of laundry to do today.
It is going now and when it stops it will go up on the drying rack.
Have a great day ladies!

Michelle. Did you get into see the doctor yet? Praying you feel better real soon.
CJ~Happy Anniversary!!!!
Today is a semi busy day for us. I went to pick up Jaysna nd his friend from Driver's Ed and Jaysn drove home (nice having my own driver
). We've got laundry on the line, but it looks like it's going to pour any minute now.
Oh well, a good friend offered to let us use their dryer if we needed to today, very sweet of them. I need to bake 4 more loaves of bread today because the boys and hubby already ate 3 of them yesterday!!!
The boys are working on editing each other's reports and then will have to make the corrections and reprint them on the computer. I think it's a great way for them to learn!!! This afternoon we pack up and deliver commodities to our shut ins. I'll have Jaysn drive us around for that since we need to go on all kinds of roads, paved and otherwise!
He needs to get in all the driving time he can. Oh gotta go, here comes the rain and I need to get the laundry!!!!

Happy Anniversary CJ and Bob!
I am spending the day on the couch, I have the flu. AT about 10 a.m. I was feeling that "guilt" of laying there and tried to get up and do something....nope...had to lay down. Dylan is getting my gingerale and I think I'll try a few soda crackers soon.
