Thumbs up Down on the Homestead - March 7 - 13th

Good morning everyone. Its a beautiful day here, with sunshine and warm temperatures.

Today is a rest day here. I do need to bake bread, but other than that, we don't have much planned for the day. Dh has to work for about 5 hours, then he'll be home.

I plan on working on my afghan and trying to get that finished, then later reading.

Hope you all have a nice Sunday, down on the homestead.

    Good morning!

We are getting a snow storm! Ugh!! With it SO nice last week this snow isn't getting a good reception around here! I guess it's only the beginning of March so it is to be expected.

DH left last night so I'm not driving the kids and I to church in this snow. We'll have it here ourselves shortly.

This afternoon we are all headed upstairs and tackling our bedrooms, getting rid of clothes that don't fit, checking spring/summer clothes, and getting rid of knick knacky things. I have an appointment at the consignment store next week so I want to have lots to take in.

My dryer broke so I have clothes hanging everywhere......great way to boost my frugality!!

Have a wonderful day on your homesteads!

Heather. Sorry about the dryer breaking. We just went through that ourselves.
CJ~hope you get that afghan done
Melissa~sounds like you got quite a bit done yesterday. I wish we were allowed to have chickens here.

Some of us are coming down with colds here and Jaysn was running a fever last night, but seemed ok earlier this morning. Jeff just took the twins up to feed our friends horses and dogs. Jaysn just came in and he does not look good. You can always tell with him by looking at his eyes. Poor kid. Looks like he and I will be staying home today. Jeff does not want Jaysn home alone and is hesitant about having me at home also due to the problem we have been having with SM. Jeff is really worried about what this guy will pull next. I promised to keep the doors locked and to tell the guy if he calls that he must talk to my husband and not me. SM will be busy this morning preaching in his church so we should have a relatively quiet morning.

This afternoon I need to make bread and work on more laundry. I think hubby has a few projects that he wanted to tackle also. So...I'd better scoot! Have a blessed day!!!!

Hi everybody! I'm BAAACK!!!!! The ladies retreat was a blast and amazingly I'm not exhausted and totally tired. Got a good sleep both nights, a bit late for me, but not too too bad.

Speaker was great, and the other speaker just dovetailed into it. Both planned separately but it was like they planned it.

Somebody brought tons of chocolate, the food was all carbs and fruits and veggies, so lots of fun had by all and I hate to think what the scale will say. I ate 1 bit of choc per day, but I had dessert twice and potatoe soup!!!!

Somebody else brought makeup to try out, and scaves to do colour draping.

Really fun stuff. Glad I went.

hoping you all have a wonderful day.

I have been washing new fabric all day and I made a run to the grocery store. i also stopped by to see a friend for a few minutes that I hadnt seen in a couple weeks. We are having breakfast for dinner tonight. the weather is getting better and better everyday here and I cant wait to see what blooms in my new yard. I have something coming up all long one side of the house.

Good morning everyone. The sun is already up and its suppose to get to +6C today. Woo hoo, the warmer days are arriving.

Its laundry day today, so I want to get the sheets washed and hung outside to dry seeing has its going to be so warm. The rest I'll hang on the clothesracks in the house.

I baked bread yesterday, but I'd like to bake a batch of buns today. Will see how that goes.

I also plan on sewing and working on my afghan. Its getting close to being finished and I'm anxiou to get it done so I can get started on another one.

I also need to pull out my seeds and see what I have so that I don't end up getting some I don't need. I won't be planting for some time yet, but I need to get an order made. I should have gotten it done by the 15th of Feb for 20% off, but I didn't.

Thats about it for now on the homestead. Have a great day everyone.

Well today has dawned with glorious color! It has been warm enough the last few nights to leave the windows open and though my allergies are going crazy, I love the fresh air!
Today I will clean my kitchen, and rewatch "Under the Tuscan Sun". MJ rented it for me this weekend and I love it already! It is on my list of must have movies now!
I didn't make the roast for supper yesterday so it was put in the crock pot when I went to bed last night. It smells sooooooo good!
Just now I am sipping coffee and thinking what I might want for breakfast!
    Have a wonderful day!

    Goodmorning!!!!

Driver's Ed classes have started back up this week so it's early mornings once again for our family. Jaysn, Jeff and Daniel left at 6:14 a.m. and I just got the twins up to start the day. We have to leave here by 7:50 a.m. and go meet Jaysn at a friend's house for our writing class and band practice by 8:10 a.m.. These are the same friends that had the meeting with SM and his wife yesterday and I'm anxious to find out how that went. DH said we need to screen calls today because he is afraid the SM will be calling to harrass us again.

We've got laundry going and hope to get a load done and hung out before leaving for the morning. The boys are all working this afternoon doing yard work for a family here in town (regular weekly job). Today they are topping trees! I have a feeling that some of our schooling is going to have to be done tonight.

    Have a blesssed day!!!

It is a gloriously beautiful day already here at the homestead. The sun is shining, the sky is a magnificent blue and the birds are singing and frolicking in the yard. It is going to be in the mid 70s today. Yaahooo!

I am having Girl Scout cookies and coffee for breakfast I will putting pork chops in mushroom soup in the crockpot soon for supper. I will be serving scalloped potatoes and green beans with it.

I plan on doing laundry today, and getting walls cleaned and prepped for painting this week. I am going to try to get some cookie dough made for the freezer.

    Have a great Monday everyone!

Kathy, that is quite a breakfast you are enjoying! You go girl!!!! We all need those once in a while!

LOL I"m not as bad into the weight hole as I figured after my wild weekend with the church ladies and our communal date with a whack of chocolate and carbs.

Up only 2 lbs. WHEW!!!!! Mind you I didn't go whole, ummmm hog as it were, but I did indulge a wee bit.

Dd likes the socks I'm knitting her, the wild purple ones.

Laundry awaits and my step gran arrives at 5 tonite. I'm making a nice roast beef dinner and doing a good housecleaning so I'll probably be gone offline for today,

tommorrow I'm teaching bible study and the rest of the week, taking step gran (her name is Dulce, and that's what I've called all my life.

all over to get bargains, and see her old pals

    Good morning everyone!

I've started babysitting two days a week and was supposed to babysit today but my days got changed to Tues & Thurs this week. So after cleaning the bathroom and paying bills I'm going to take it easy and just enjoy the day.

The weekend was a busy one for us. My 2 younger dks were involved in a first aid competition on Sat and their team won 1st place. Dd who was the team captain also won the best captains award. The team had a party Sat night and Sun was busy preparing for today's babysitting and now that's changed. I'm kind of thankful that I can rest today.

Yesterday I tried a new recipe for potato pancakes and we all liked them so I'm going to post the recipe later.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning! What a beautiful day outside. The birds are singing and the sun is shining. I love the signs of spring.

Today I have a upper GI test at the hospital. I should be leaving soon to go do that. I really don't want to. I still haven't heard anything on the ultrasound. The dr. called Friday and said he should get the results by the end of this week. I hate the waiting.

Chris did ok at his track meet this weekend. He brought home a 6th place ribbon for the 1600 meter (1 mile) run. There were well over 10 different schools at this event. I didn't think he would get anything with all the competition. The school took 2nd place in the whole tournament.

Dakota has a school program tonight. He has a speaking part, so I have to put the camcorder battery on charge, so I can record it.

I think after I get home from the test, that I am going to do some more decluttering.

I hope you all have a great day!
