Thumbs up Homesteading/self-sufficiency quote of the day

"Nothing should be wasted on the self-sufficient holding. The garbage collector should never have to call." John Seymour

I love this quote even though I know its almost impossible to follow in today's society. But my goal is to work at getting as close as possible to it.

I really like this quote, it sure does give me something to strive for!

Now, the last few weeks with the Spring Fling, I've been getting to know my garbage collector too well!

I'm embarassed by all the garbage that we create. I really need to get back to less prepackaged foods and buy in bulk more. During the summer we do not have much garbage at all since we mainly get our produce from the garden.
