anyone like barns and covered bridges?
I love covered bridges. I'd love to do some trips to just take pictures. I like lighthouses too and hope we can see more this summer. I came across this site and it's really nice to just look over.

I really love covered bridges. I live only a mile from one of the oldest in my state!! And there is another one only about 7 miles from my house-it too is one of the oldest.
they just refurbished another one that is about 20 miles from me and now every year they have a covered bridge celebration!
Thanks for sharing the site-I cannot wait to explore further!!

I have never seen a covered bridge, swinging yes, covered no.
I do love old barns though. They hold a fascination for me and always have. I remember my grandfather's barn and the hours spent there.
I'm going to check out the site later today. Thanks Sara.

I do like them. Here's a picture of a covered brige near where we live. It's open to pedestrian traffic.

We have a tiny little covered bridge in the next county that dh had to cross to get to his old job. Every time I went across it I got a warm fuzzy feeling and always wished I was in a horse and buggy so it could be really quaint. I'd love to visit places with bigger bridges like Darlene posted pics of, they are so neat looking. And sad to say I've never seen a real lighthouse, only pictures; but I hope to see my first one when dh and I go on vacation for our anniversary

I love them. They give you such a feel for rural America. We have lots of old barns around my area. I have always wanted to take a driving trip and just photograph all the ones that catch my attention. I will be taking a vacation in April and DH is wanting to just get in his pickup and drive and just go anywhere that strikes our fancy, no definate destination, so I will be on an old barn and building lookout. I will post pictures of the ones that I see when we get back.

I'm a sucker for an old barn. Sometime I'll try to post a picture of ours...it was built in 1938 and is one of the largest barns in our county! It was built using a style of archetecture more prevalent in WI barns, where the rafters are built in an almost "honeycomb" style.

I love covered bridges and old barns. Here's 2 we have here in Alabama. They're both in Oneonta, which is about 30-40 mins from where we live.Steve has family in Oneonta and we go over theses bridges a lot. I close my eyes lol
(both pics were found online)

Horton Mill Covered Bridge
Off Alabama 75 north of Oneonta. Towering 70 feet above the Black Warrior River, this 220-foot-long bridge is the highest covered bridge above water in the United States. Nature trails and a roadside park border the crossing.

The Easley Covered Bridge is the shortest of these bridges. It is 95 feet long and 18 feet above a creek. It was built in 1930 and sits about a mile south of U.S. 231 near the community of Rosa.

Oh my, I LOVE covered bridges and at some point in my life I want to get my picture taken by one! Just one of my silly "wantings"~
We have lots of lighthouses around here as we are only a few minutes from Lake Huron! Old barns intrigue as well and I have many pictures of them rom all over our province.
Thanks for the link, I'm going to check it out!
