    Smile Cleaning up the yard...

Our yard took a terrible hit this year due to really low temps over the Winter. I think I have lost 3 rose bushes. Chris and I got them all cut way back and are waiting to see how many come back. I can only see new growth on about 6 of them. Chris also chopped out some old stumps and is ripping out a bunch of stuff that has taken over the front garden area. He and I have taken one full trailer load of yard waste to the compost/yard waste site outside of town and have 2 more loads to go. When the other 2 boys get home, I'm going to have them rake out and bag up all the leaves from the flower beds so that they are all clean. I can't wait to have my rose and iris beds all clean and pretty looking again!!!!

I hope your roses come back. Roses are really hardy, I bet they surprise you and come back.

I'm just hoping that I didn't cut them too far back. We had one go wild on us a couple of years ago when we cut it way back. It just got transplanted yesterday to climb the fence. I just love the look of roses climbing fences and I hope this one makes it.

I sure hope they make it Debbie. I love it when our rose bushes get a "haircut". They start to put on all sorts of new growth then. Keep us posted on how they do.
