Thumbs up On the homefront - April 3 - 10th

Good morning everyone. Its another beautiful day here with brilliant sunshine. Dh is working, but once he gets home, the kids and I will be going for our walk. Its just too nice to stay in.

Today is a day of rest. I've taken a few of those days lately. It just feels so good to do exactly what one wants and not have to worry about getting anything done right now. With gardening coming soon, I know I won't be able to do much of that then.

Hope you all have a great day, down on your homestead.

    Good morning (almost afternoon!)

Today Delaney isn't feeling well so we didn't go to church. DH and the boys are getting ready to go to the boys bowling tournament. Go boys!!!

This afternoon I plan on getting the livingroom tidied up, and check over the missions and get flinging a bit!!

Supper is roast beef, potatoes, carrots, salad and a white cake with frosting.

It is beautiful here today. The sun is shining and the birds are singing. Today is the first day of my vacation so I am doing absolutely nothing today. I plan to crochet a little, maybe work on my quilt a little this evening and other than that nothing. I feel like a kid on summer vacation, LOL.

Melissa ~ I hope you feel better soon

Good morning everyone! The sun is out shining and not a cloud in the sky. Dh is planning on raking the front lawn later.

Today will be a day of rest for me. I'm planning on knitting and reading the day away. We have lots of left overs so I don't need to cook

Later dd and I are planning on going for a long walk with the dog. I love days like today when the weather is beautiful and we hang out as a family and enjoy each others company.

Hope you all have a great day!

Today we all slept in after being at the hospital with Josh Friday evening night and most of the day Saturday. We are all home now and Jeff and I actually slept for 10 hours straight from last night until this morning. I'm thinking we were way more tired that I had imagined. Granted I had been up with Josh since Friday morning and got 45 minutes of sleep Friday night while at the hospital, but this is ridiculous!
None of us made it to church this morning.

We decided that today was a day just to rest and get a few things caught up on around here. We have the heavy quilts washed and hanging on the line to dry and more laundry going. Almost caught up finally! Jaysn and Josh have a friend over playing and Chris is up on the farm working with Uncle Bob. One of the pieces of farm equipment broke so Chris is providing the muscle and Bob the expertise to get it fixed. Jaysn and Chris may go and help another friend with some things this afternoon. We'll see!

well the new tub is almost in, I'm taking a break while dh drills some stuff.

I'm worn out but I can see an end in sight with a bath in it.

The bathroom will need a lot of gyproc, we had to remove most of it in the bathtub area.

I don't know if I'll talk much for the next few days, I can hardly see straight.

We went to church and SS this morning and then hung around to talk to our friends for a bit. They head back to Antigua tomorrow. I am going to miss them!!!!! It will be Aug. or Sept. before they are up again for supplies and even then it may only be my friend's dh that can come.

We have a little chaos going today and got a nasty email from our former realtor this afternoon so we are trying very hard to trust in the Lord and have faith that He is going to make everything work out okay.

Dh just finished mowing the yard and I did some trimming. Now we're waiting for our realtor to come over.

Have a great rest of the day everyone!

    Hello ladies.

Today I'm feeling very energetic. I'm going to do a really good clean up of my ensuite bathroom and walk-in wardrobe. I'm also going to clean all the glass windows on my kitchen cupboards and after lunch, some ironing. I must admit I'm quite enjoying doing the ironing. It's been about 18 years since I last had to iron and I thought I'd hate it, but I don't. It's a really good activity for thinking.

I pruned my roses and applied fertilizer first thing this morning but it's raining now so I doubt I'll get back into the garden today.

And an update on my desperately-needing-a-major-cleanup-office. It's still untouched with all my old corporate stuff on the desks and manuscripts and manuals still taking up all my hard drive space. I can't seem to get a start on it! It's so untidy I can't allow anyone to come in here. I'm so ashamed of it but I still can't seem to clean it up. I have three computers and two desks in here and a huge laser colour printer that I never use now. I need a good slap to get myself into gear.

I hope you all have a wonderful day on your homesteads.

    Hi all,
I;m starting to feel human again so I thought I'd post here. Life has been so much harder than I thought it would be lately.

Today we all worked around the house. Alex and I cleaned up the yard with the lawn mower and cart and burned the junk. But the best part is before that I started on my garden. I burned off last years, raked it all up and burned it again. Then I tilled and got my greens in. So, 50 days from now I'll be eatting my own lettuce. YEA!!!

I had a high productivity day. Yard work, garden work, laundry and hung it out to dry, then made dinner. For dinner we had oven cooked chicken, rice and black beans, cabbage, and artichokes. mmmm

Tonight is going to be great sleeping as we are all tuckered out!
    Have a great day all.

    Marcia

    Hi All,

It's a cold, snowy day here! I hope you are all staying nice and warm if you're having a day like we are here! For some reason this weather makes me want to bake! But, I didn't. It feels so early to me too, since we've had to turn the clocks forward. I didn't realize that it's almost bedtime!

I hope you all had a nice weekend!

Good morning everyone. This daylight savings time have us all messed up when it comes to time. We just got up.

Today is actually laundry day, but because it was so nice yesterday, I decided to do all the laundry and hang it outside to dry. We had warm temps and a nice breeze yesterday and everything dried so quickly.

Today I need to bake bread. I will probably also bake some goodies for the kids and dh too.

Otherwise, another day of working on the spring fling a bit.

    Have a great day everyone.

    Goodmorning everyone!

Jeff took Jaysn and Chris to work with him this morning. The boys are going to be hauling out all the sheetrock scraps from the job site. Josh and I are taking it easy at home. He slept in this morning and is in a much better mood. I think the pain pills are helping also. I'll go and pick up the other 2 later today and bring them home so hubby doesn't have to take time away from work.

On the agenda for today is doing some laundry and baking some bread. I also need to make an appointment for Josh with his orthapedic surgeon for Friday or the following Monday to see how his healing is coming along. Other than that, I'm not planning on doing anything other than reading and spending time with the kids and here at the Village. Josh's getting hurt sure made me slow down and not feel like I had to rush through everything. Looks like we will be getting a Spring break after all!

We're just in from running errands and need to do school in a bit. I have a tiny bit of laundry to put away and need to see if I have enough for another load. Later I'll sit down and read for a bit (hopefully).
