    Default homesteading books to recommend?

It's my birthday in a couple of weeks and dh needs a few suggestions for gifts. I would like some books on homesteading and I'm interested in knowing what you've read and would recommend.

I've read the Readers Digest back to basics book and John Seymour's Self Sufficiency book and a few others. I prefer practical or intellectual books rather than inspirational stories. any suggestions?

Carla Emory wrote a big one and I'm trying for the life of me to remember the title.

I believe the name of that book is The Encyclopedia of Country Living. I have a copy of it and it is by far the book I refer to most.

Carla Emery's book is Encyclopedia for Country living. Here is her website http://www.carlaemery.com/ One of the best books on Country living.

Another really good on is Storey's Basic Country Skills by John & Martha Storey.

    I wouldn't be without them.

Yup that is the title I was trying to remember. I've heard of the Storey book, should get it out of the library. Carla's book is in a lot of libraries and if your local one doesn't have it, they maybe able to get a copy in thru inter library loans.

Thanks everyone, you've been a great help. I'll research what's available on amazon this afternoon.
