Down On The Homestead - April 18th thru April 24th
Good morning everyone!
We are off to Sunday School in a bit. Dh and I both have sinus headaches this morning (had mine most of the night too) and we can't sit through service (contemporary music) like that. We are both starting to feel better though.
After church today we need to swing by Publix to get some organic apple juice that they have on sale and dh wants to go to Lowe's (to look at anything and everything LOL!). After that we'll hit the beach later this afternoon. BTW- We saw the funniest thing at the beach yesterday.......... 2 ducks on the beach. ROFL I was trying to get dh to catch them and bring them home (he was not amused by the suggestion).

Today I need to go to wal-mart to pick up a few things, get a haircut and then I want to get some stuff done in the yard.
The weather is finally nice here and I will be hanging out my wash again today.

Doing wash today. It is lovely out so I'm hanging it ou on the line. I have to rummage through the freezer to see what we can have for dinner. I hope to get some house work done too. I love it when it is warm and bright I get so much more accomplished. Oh yeah, I want to take the puppies for a walk too. I did 3 miles yesterday.

Good morning everyone.
Welcome Debbie (seadream). Nice to see you Marcial - have missed you.
Today being Sunday, is a day of rest. I'll quilt and sew the day away. I love these types of days.
Yesterday I finished our m/bedroom. My house is finished now except for my kitchen which I will start tomorrow. It feels so good to have the house clean, have it almost completely decluttered and to have things exactly where I want them.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day, down on their homesteads.

good morning all!
I'm heading off to church shortly. This afternoon I'm packing to leave for Vancouver, tomorrow morning we are off.
I doubt I'll get back on before then so wishing you all a good 2 weeks. I'm not sure if I will manage to get back online from fil's place. If I can I will.
Love and hugs all round till then.
Dd and the dog are going to hold the fort. Her proposal for a research grant hasn't been answered yet but still hoping. She wants to study some newly discovered cave fungus stuff for antibiotic properties over the summer.
Ds has an application in for a part time loans officer position locallly and another bank officer position full time. He is graduating (we hope, as long as that nasty instructer that has a hate on for him, and has done since the start doesn't hold up the works) this spring so it's time to launch the career.
Nicer than if he moves out of town, I still like to see him once a week but whatever works within God's will.
Have a good Sunday and a good 2 weeks everyone

Good afternoon everyone!
Today we're all taking it easy and just enjoying the day. We started the day with a pancake breakfast then everyone ended up spending some quiet time alone. I played a game with two dks and dh helped ds with a computer project.
This afternoon dh and I went on a date to the coffee shop. Dd is scrapebooking, both ds' are "jamming" with their guitar and bass and dh is on the piano. It's a bit loud in here but it's a "wonderful" loud. I love it when we all can have fun and enjoy each others company.
Once I'm off the computer I'm going to start another knitted dishcloth; my old ones are ready to retire.
That's about it down on this relaxing homestead.~ Tina ~

Fare thee well, Margery. I'll miss you.
CJ. I'm so glad you're having a peaceful day. I'm sure you'll enjoy your time with your crafts.
Welcome to the big homestead, seadream.
Marcia, I'm the opposite. I get my energy from the cold weather and I fall in a heap when it's hot.
Hang five, quilter!
It's Monday here so I have to go gift shopping for my daughter-in-law's birthday present. She's quite easy to buy for as she's a craft/patchwork/sewing teacher so she likes anything along the craft line. I'm going to try to find a sewing basket for her and put in some odds and ends. While I'm out I'll also pick up a few other things and go to the feed store and buy some chicken feed. I love going there as the old man who owns the place is either hauling around very heavy bags of stuff (he's over 70) or he's sitting on some bales of hay smoking his pipe. If he's resting I always try to pick his brain about something. Last time we talked about growing avocardos. He calls me "girlie" LOL.
When I come home I have to do some laundry and ironing and sow some follow up seeds. We ate the first of our green beans last night - they were still baby size and were absolutely delicious. I'm trying to rearrange my greenhouse so I might get to that too if I have time.
I hope you're all having a delightful Sunday on your homesteads.

Margery, we will all miss you!!!!

Today we decided to sleep in and then go to the second service at church where our family were the Greeters today! I got to talk to a very special young man that came for the first time last week and gave his life to the Lord.
We talked about how his week had gone and how this wonderful change had made an impact on him and his family's life (he and his wife have 3 young children). I knew last week when I greeted him and helped get him familiar with the church that he had a troubled heart but that God was going to do something very special for him and boy did HE!!!!! Today was also special because we had baby dedications and I love seeing all those wonderful babies and their families up there being dedicated to the Lord.
On our way home we stopped by WalMart and picked up a few things including a big 1 pound container of strawberries for .98 and a 10 pound bag of potatos for .99. I was craving grapes but they were way too expensive so I settled for the strawberries.
This afternoon we watched golf on TV and Chris cleaned out his closet. Amazing all the stuff we found in there. We use it as an extra storage area for our pantry items and we found lots of goodies!!!! Jeff is out clening out the garage and getting things houled down to the corner. We have a free garbage pick day tomorrow on anything you can haul down, so Jeff is flinging like a mad man!!!!
Tonight I'm hoping to get to bed early. We have a busy week ahead of us and I need to be rested.

Good morning on this sunny Monday morning. Margery, will be missing you. Praying you have a safe trip and that you don't work too hard at your fil.
QuilterMom - praying that sinus headache goes away.
Today is laundry day here today. I have sheets to do and a few other things. Not a heavy laundry day though which is nice. I'll hang everything outside this morning.
I'm also going to start the cleaning of my kitchen. It will take all week to get done because I'm not rushing it, but going slowly.
Later this afternoon, I plan on getting some major quilting done today. I worked on my crocheting yesterday, rather than quilting.
Have a great day everyone, down on your homestead.

Well I think I am back!
I actually pushed myself and got 4 rows of corn planted!Intersperesed with the corn is zuchini, watermelons, pumpkins and cantaloupe. I also plants sno peas, that will climb the corn stalks and give us my fave veggie, that is usually $3.95 a pound! I love sno peas!
Of course I am tired, and my right ear hurts like gang busters, but NO coughing!!!!
There are still many seeds to put in, but I just have no more energy, and I need to do laundry and dishes, as well as bath the pup so he can come inside again!
I have decided to do tomato and pepper plants and not seeds this year. I may do the same with cucumbers as well.
Well I am beginning to choke a bit now, best take a benadryl and rest a bit before bathing the pup. I wil be so happy to be normal again!
Have a great day you all!

Hi All,
Today is a busy one for us. This morning I made all the doctor's appointment for the family that we needed. Chris and I have one at 3:15 p.m. today with our regular doctor, I have one on Thursday with my gynocologist and have a complete physical and extraction of a clogged hair folical for my hubby next week with our regular doctor. I still need to call the hospital and schedule my yearly Mammogram. So much fun!!!!
I called my mom and got the whole family medical history related to the health issues that Chris and I are having and found out that both sides of my family may have IBS but did not realize it. Mom had me tell her the symptoms and she said "I have that and I know your father does too!". Lucky us!!!
Right now the kids are doing their schoolwork and chores. Chris has a lawn to mow later and we have the front yard to do here. We also need to clean out some more junk since they are doing the free pick up of unwanted items and junk tomorrow here. Our pile just gets bigger and bigger! Hopefully the rain will hold off until Chris gets the lawn done.
Tonight I'm hoping to make a run over to the hospital to see my friend Diane and see how she is doing after having her knee replaced. I have some books to take over for her to read to keep her busy and laughing. She's such a special lady and I really love her dearly!

It is a cool and cloudy Monday here but I am hoping to get a few seeds in the ground before the rain starts. I want to get my melons in and my tomato plants set today.
I am going to have an easy day other than that. I worked 6 12 hour shifts last week so I am taking today as a day of R&R, LOL.
Have a great week everyone!

Hello everyone!
QM - hope your headache goes away soon
Mel - I sure hope you feel better soon
Debbie - Ds has IBS and was in and out of the hospital for a year before they found out what was wrong. I hope you find out soon if that's what it is and get it under control quickly.
All of you talking about gardening are make me envious. We have just over another month before we can plant.
It's a busy day here. I needed to do more goal-setting with the dks on their school work and get ds to pick his college classes for the fall. I put a roast in the crockpot, will add carrots and potatoes latter. I had extra whip cream so I even made dessert for tonight; the dks are already licking their lips
Right after lunch I am hoping to give ds#2 a hair cut and then vacuum the house. I'll drive ds to his college class and run some errands before I pick him up.
Hopefully tonight will be a relaxing evening. Oh yeah, I need to find time to do a couple loads of laundry too.
Hope you're all having a great day!~ Tina ~

Welcome back, Melissa and Carolyn, it's good to have you both back.
Debbie, what's IBS?
Kathy, I know what it's like working those long hours. I'm glad you have a chance to rest up today.
Tina, when you're feeling envious again, just think of all those weeds we have to deal with.
Quilter, I hope you get over your headache soon.
Like everyone else I'm doing laundry today - washing this morning and ironing this afternoon. I'll put on my new Northern Exposure DVD and watch that while I'm ironing
I'm making pot roast, mashed spuds, green beans and carrots for dinner. I'll look in my new cookbook for a new dessert to make this afternoon.
Have fun, my friends.
