    Default Cutting Wood

Has anyone else started cutting wood for the winter months yet? My DH doesn't have school next week and he said he was going to spend some time next week moving the wood pile that is dry up closer to the house and then he was going down to the timber to start cutting some more. The boys will be over in the evenings to help split and stack, cool weather is a ways off but I know we will apprecitate the wood when it does get here.

Yes we already have a nice size pile of wood stacked up. Mel will cut it all thru the summer, when time allows.

We have a wood pellet stove so we burn the wood pellets. No wood cutting for us.

Wood is all cut & stacked & looks lovely. Such a nice feeling having that done.

I wish I had a wood stove or open fireplace. I grew up with a fireplace and it's one of the few things I miss about sydney. I've told DH if we ever win the lotto, I'm installing a fireplace and even if I have to have the air conditioner on as well, I'll light it.

We have a big tree out back that I have been worried about cutting down. It is near power lines and the power company has been maintaining it for ever. It died last year I was thinking it was going to cost a couple thousand to have cut down. I called the co op and they are coming to cut it down FREE! I told them not to haul it off that we will cut it up. That should put us through the winter.
