I really really want about 20 acres...
With a nice snug house, a pond, lots of trees, room for all kinds of animals, a barn and a huge garden area. I want no neighbors too close so that I don't have to close the curtains every night and I can keep the windows open and not hear the sounds of cars, kids screaming or dogs barking. I want a big root cellar and lots of fruit trees!
Am I asking for too much????

I'll take that right along with you! I live in the city and my street is extremely busy. I hate it!

Can I move in too?? that sounds wonderful! That's pretty much the same as I want. I'd like it to be in a wooded area maybe back home in Maine by a stream, with a garden, goats, chickens, etc, and gardens of all kinds...sigh, someday. Keep your dream close to your heart and I am sure you will get there.

Awe Deb, one day your dream will come true. It took us 16 years to find our dream place, so don't give up. Just keep working towards it.
In my books, no dream is ever too big. Its what we do with those dreams that count.

It all begins with a dream Debbie. And you have to have "country" in your heart. Even a few acres can make your dreams come true.
Don't give up the dream!

I know what you mean Debbie!
When we built our house there was only 4 houses on the whole road; now we're all sandwiched together. We do have bushes behind our property line so that is my little bit of country. But, we just heard that the back property is now going to be developed and all the trees and bush are coming down.
I don't like hearing everyone around me. Dh and I like to have breakfast out on our deck but the highway has become so busy that we have a hard time hearing on another.
Hope we both get our hearts desirers.~ Tina ~

It's my dream, too....

Asking for too much? Hard to say.
With every dream, you have to give up other things to make it work. What would you give up to achieve that situation? Would your DH change jobs and move? Would you go into big debt? How 'bout always driving the kids to playdates?
Sometime I THINK I'd like living on 20 acres away from everyone. But what we have is pretty good -- we have a small lot in a small town. Like you, I have the great joy of homeschooling my children. The neighbor kids are nice.
But ...
Trees. Not many; we live in the high desert, so pinon pines (short pines) are the best that grow here. Pond? Nope. It would dry up in a day! Dogs barking -- yep. And coyotes howling too.
But, I have a private backyard, and I can see the stars at night.

I know exactly what you’re wishing for, because I had the same wish before we moved here. Keep on wishing and looking you will find the right place, it’s never easy but well worth the effort!

Nope, I don't think it's much to ask for!
It all starts with a dream Debbie and it will happen if it's meant to be and it'll happen at just the perfect time!
