where do you store your kitchen goods?
Now that I'm stockpiling and doing more sewing and canning I've had to think about rearranging my storage areas. I used to keep my sewing machine and supplies in a cupboard along with the overflow of my pantry. I have one pantry cupboard in my kitchen that is full of canned items and things I have open and am using, along with potatoes and onions. I have another small cupboard with all my baking supplies and a cupboard just outside the kitchen with the overflow + bottled water, preserves, boxes of tissues, toches, batteries etc. I have glass cannisters on the bench tops with things like flours, beans, breadcrumbs, sugar etc.
I'll be reorganising next week. Before I start that job I'd like to get a few ideas about how you all store your kitchen items - both canned and dried goods + the stuff you're currently using.

Well I"ve got shelves in a former broom closet, and I got large rectangular Rubbermaid plastic containers to fit, so I put the stuff in those shelves in the see thru plastics.
Helps me see when I'm running low on any one item. They hold 10 lbs at a time.

Another thing is my end tables in the living room. They are sort of hexagonal, without shelves inside, and they have doors. Fit's a bag of flour, or sugar or big bulk boxes of pasta very nicely.
Also fits a half sack of grain but I don't do much grain grinding anymore.
Big bags of rice, or corn too.

I store my flour, sugar, and oats in big 5 gallon food grade buckets that I get from the bakery. I store my cornmeal in big popcorn tins. My pasta and dried milk are stored in big rubbermaid containers. I also use those huge gallon sized pickle jars to store potato flakes, beans, etc..
We turned a former coat closet into a pantry and also use the space above our electric furnance since we never use the furnace (we heat our home with a pellet stove). Our home is small so we do have the overflow of pantry stock in boxes in the closets or under beds and also on some shelves in the laundry room.

I use evey inch of my small laundry closet, by putting up extra shelves. somethings go into flater plastic boxes to go under the beds. the guest room isntused much so I store extrs food in rubbermaid containers, the closet to store extre toilet paper, and I will store the extra bags of dry cat food in the guest room. In the pantry, the top shelves holds jumk I dont use much. So it's being put in a lockable contanier and put in the attic which is in my closet. Then I will have an extra shelf for things I use, but not daily. Tara

I have a large pantry in the kitchen and dh put up some cabinets that he made in the laundry room over the washer and dryer. I also put dry cereal on top of the (upright)deep freezer. And I have one of those big cabinets from WM (storage cabinet I think is the name) that holds my cleaning supplies and some stuff gets put in there or on top.
I have stuff everywhere

I store stuff in the laundry room. I have shelves in there but if I were low on space I'd get some bed lifters and store stuff under the bed.
