Down on the Homestead - Sept 5 - 11th
Good morning everyone. Its cloudy out again and a little cool. Looks like it might rain. I'm hoping the rain will hold off for a couple days so I can get at my garden. I need to get the onions pulled but the ground is so soggy, can't get on the garden.
After the papers are delivered (only one week to go) then I plan on quilting the day away. Dh is working and when he gets home he will be taking the kids to do a small job at the cemetary. It'll be nice and quiet here.
Tonight will be game night with the family.
Have a great day everyone.

Morning CJ and all to follow,
Today I need to do laundry and a little cleaning. I then plan on being a slug and working on purses.
We went to our begining archery class yesterday and we all liked it. Alex loved it and wants to get a bow. We priced them last week. WOW! why couldn't I have entered her in a less expensive hobby clas. Flower journaling is really cheap!! lol I think what I will do is see when I help my neighbor with his store thes Nov. instead of him paying me , we could make a trade. I don't know if any of you have a compound bow but they start at around $150. We went to a bbq last night and didn't get home til nearly 12 so she is still sleeping.
I'm not sure what I will make for dinner tonight. We will have to poke through the freezer.
Have a peaceful day everyone.

Good morning CJ, Marcia and Carolyn and all to follow! I'm getting ready for church, and sneaking down on the comp while dd has her shower.
Gotta talk up the ladies bible study opening up again on a week from this Tuesday, pastor is giving me a few minutes. Trying to figure out what to say.
I want to mention the study we are doing, and how it's of benefit to all, that I want them to read ahead and be ready to discuss, and check out the bible verses and bring any discrepancies to class.
there, that.
I think better when I'm typing than at ANY OTHER TIME!

Afternoon everyone!
It's cool and breezy here! YAY!
DH and I went to a yard sale this morning and I picked up a huge bag of sheet music/song books for $1.00. They are mostly gospel/christian ones, so I'm hoping they do well on ebay.
We stopped at our friends on the way back and chatted with them for a little. We haven't seen them in a while. They are old enough to be our parents, so people always make that mistake when we are all out together, lol. They are very sweet and DH helps out alot over there because Walt has had some health issues recently.
Back home, grabbed some yummy soup for lunch (homemade of course) and Raechel and I were off for loss leader shopping. Courtney napped while we were gone. I saved 50% of my bill today! I got 5 boxes of brownie mix for $.35! HA! Take that Shop Rite!
After putting everything away, I'm taking a few minutes on the computer. My meatloaf is made up and awaiting the oven.
I have some laundry to fold and ebay pics to take.
Have a wonderful day!

Today was supposed to be a good day. The inlaws crashed our breakfast, and wouldn't leave till it was too late for us to get to church. It always upsets me when they drop by, makes me grouchy all day to listen to their belly aching all morning about a variety of self inflicted health issues.
I got a few loads of laundry on the lines, set up the framework for a temporary greenhouse. and aside from that, not a wole lot going on here today. I have another load to put on the line. DD has decided she wants to play in the tub awhile before I wash her hair. She is playing with her mermaids and building blicks, so I am peeking in on her and keeping a ear out. (She hasn't figured out that the location of a mirror we have and her reflection in the window...i can see her even though she doesn't think I can, LOL.)
After her bath, once i get her napping, I will put another load on the lines and begin the last laundry load for the day. I should figure out dinner too...~~ Missy ~~

Good Afternoon all,
It is a beautiful sunny summer day here. Not too hot, just right to leave off the air conditioning. We all went to church this morning, it is our last Sunday to sit together as a family as DD and I start back with choir and Worship team next Sunday. Our pastor was back this week, he is better but still not back to normal. After church DD and I had a short rehearsal for next Sunday, we are doing a special song for the kids as they start Sunday school again.
After church I made lunch, grilled cheese sandwiches on homemade rye bread and home fries. Yummy
I did some knitting and then DH and I took a drive into town to pick up some prescriptions for DS#1. A very expensive trip even with our drug coverage. We decided to go to the local big box mall and look around. We very quickly found ourselves back in the car wondering why people were in such a hurry to buy everything in sight. It was almost like cultural shock for us. Oh well, it was at least an affirmation that living simply and frugally is indeed the right direction for us.
Tonight we are having chicken stew and salad. DH is busy watching the Nextel car racing on T.V.
Tomorrow is a holiday so I think we will all sleep in.
Have a good day everyone

Good evening everyone! I've missed posting here for quite awhile. I'm feeling better now and hoping to post regularly again.
After church ds#2 and I went out for a nice long visit. Being the middle child and so easy going it's sometimes easy for him to not get some alone time with dh or I. We had a wonderful time together.
Later I helped dh get dd's new bedroom ready for painting. I think we're going to put hardwood flooring in instead of carpet. Dd is so excited to have a new bedroom downstairs.
Dh and the boys are watching movies tonight and I had a nice long bath and read my book.
Tomorrow dd will be coming home; she's first-aiding at a cancer camp for kids.
I better get to bed as tomorrow will be a busier day.
Good nite
~ Tina ~

Morning Homesteaders!,
~Tina Glad to see you here posting again.
Today I need to get some purses finished and apple butter made. Laundry needs to be finished too. For dinner I'm thinking stuffed green peppers and grilled zuchinni.
My neighbor was going to give me some tomatoes too. She has them coming out of her ears and my vines have died. I would like to try canning some for chili and soups this winter. Well if I don't get going here I'l never get off. lol
Have a peaceful day every one

Good morning everyone. Tina, so good to see you back posting. Have missed you friend.
Its cold here, very windy and looks like more rain and they say frost tonight. So I now have to bring in the tomatoes and let them ripen in the basement. All our onions are pulled but I'll now have to bring them in also for the night. This weather is for the birds!!! And if it continues to be frost, I'll have to dig up the potatoes and dry them in the house.
I plan on quilting the day away. Nothing is opened and dh wants to work in his workshop and get a few things finished. Were seriously debating about whether will do any craft sales this year. We might take a break and just enjoy the season rather than be so rushed. Will see but the decision has to be made soon as we have to get some applications in.
Otherwise, not much else happening here. I do plan on grinding up some grain and making bread and buns.
Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning ladies!
The wind is picking up and from what I seen online, the hurricane looks worse today than it did lastnight.Lastnight it looked to have diminished some, but today...it looks to have picked up more strength. We'll continue to keep an eye out on it.
Today I need to do some laundry, clean the bedroom, vacuum, sweep the carport.I'll check the garden but I think everything has just about died or stopped producing
We lost ALL our corn this year.It got up about 5 feet tall and we had lots of rain(this was about a month ago or longer) and it just died.Everyone we know around here lost theirs as well
Have a good day ladies!!

Good morning all!
We had a busy weekend. We went over to my parents and DH's Mom's on Saturday and got home late last night. We all had a really nice time visiting and seeing all our family. It was my Dad's 65th birthday so it was a wonderful celebration.
Today DH is leaving for work for the week and the kids and I are getting things ready to start school tomorrow. I am homeschooling Dylan again this year, Kody is going into gr. 10 and Delaney gr. 2.
After lunch we are going to town to get Kody some jeans and a backpack. I have everything else ready to go.
Later today I am making up more chili sauce with the neverending tomatoes from the garden. I took quite a few over to my parents on the weekend and for my brothers as well.
I am looking forward to getting back into more of a routine this week.
Have a great day!
