    Default Country Living??????

THis morning I was woken by my chickens - not your usual  Cockadoodle - Doo, mind you -

Nope, she was on our bed!!! I went out to the living room and there are chickens and cats everywhere. The chicks have had to be in the basement for awhile  so I could build them a new chicken house (theirs had collapsed). Well yesterday they had started to venture up the first few stairs. Fortunately I finished their new deluxe house and yard today and they are thrilled to be in it!! All though I think Mortimer (Brahma Roo) and the one little Rhode Island thought they were going to get to enjoy the heated waterbed!!! If Bruce wasn't already upset by the chicken fiasco this morning, he went downstairs to get a pop and Sammee and Emilee (the sheep) are standing in the basement eating the chick food!! (Damon didn't close the door hard enough - but he says he did and the sheep most have thumbs!!) well - the sheep, AND Damon are mine so I was in trouble for that too!! Guess thats just country living!!

Our neighbor used to have two young goats. I walked into our little cabin, that we used as a bedroom, one day and found both kids on the bed. I went for the broom and they jumped out the (open) window, a drop of about 10 feet. But, they were nice enough to leave me a present, to clean up, on their way out...

    Another time:
One evening, about this time of year, I found a very large Tarantula, climbing across the sheets of my turned down bed...

    Another:
DH used to have to check his boots before putting them on, because the Alligator Lizards would hide in them. DH has pinched nerves and can't feel his right foot. He walked around half the day, thinking that his socks were bunched-up, took off his boot and a 12 inch lizard, crawled out... boy were we both surprised...

Oh my God!!! THis is hilarious!! There is an old Far side cartoon I wish I could find - two army guys are sitting out in the jungle and one guy is dumping his boots - snakes, lizards, bats, bugs, everything is falling out making a huge pile, the guy next to him is just sitting there with this look on his face - his boots are on and they are BULGING!!!

Oh - I got two more - I grew up in Scottsdale, AZ. My best friend's mom told us to come in and look at these funny bugs she had caught in their bathtub - she had eight glasses turned over on top of - SCORPIONS!!!!

Another time I was taking the kids back to Scottsdale to hang out and they were asking me weren't there creepy bugs and what not there - I said yeah but you don't really see them - Right after I said that we RAN OVER a rattlesnake and then pulled in to a rest stop and there was a tarantula in the bathroom!!! A BIG One - course we had to take about a million pictures of the creepy thing!! When we got to our hotel room there was a big huge puffy wolf spider outside the door (everythings outside in Phx) I hit it with a bat and it exploded into nine million babies going everywhere - most disgusting thing I have ever had happen to me. We all crawled all night!!
