Exclamation Update on QuilterMom - Sept 26th

Kim and her family really need to feel our prayers, good thoughts and hugs because of what they are going through right now.

Here is part of an e-mail I received from her friend.

They are still getting hit with the back side of Jeanne.........gusty winds and rain. They ventured outside a little earlier this morning and they are flooded.....water is about ankle deep in the front......they didn't go out into the backyard. They haven't had a chance to check on damage to the house but from what they are seeing it doesn't look too bad....no real damage. Time will tell though and they are hoping to get a real good look at everything once Jeanne finally moves through......should be sometime later this evening for them. Her land line (phone) is still working but no electricity and no cable. They have heard that it will or it could take up to a month to restore power in the area!!!!! Her garden is gone......lots of trees down again. There is one really big oak tree that is getting ready to go.......if it falls it will land on the electric and telephone lines that go from her house to the main lines at the road....they are praying that the tree stays put and that they have a chance to cut what they can down so it doesn't hit the lines.

She is tired......she and dh didn't sleep at all last night. Her little guy did very well.....as well as can be expected, he did sleep all night. She said it was so scary....she heard lots of noises last night and isn't sure what most of them were! The generator is working and her refrigerator and freezer are hooked up to it. She did lots of baking and has lots of food prepared for them. They don't have cable so she has to rely on the radio for information. She gave me a link to their local newspaper so I am going to go and check it out to see if they are listing any FEMA locations or any boil water notices.... things that are important that she might not be getting information for.

She isn't sure if dh will be working tomorrow......they are basically taking it hour by hour right now.

Thanks for the update CJ. I am so sorry for all that Kim and her family are going through. They are in my thoughts and prayers along with all those that have been battered by the unrelentless lines of huricanes.

Poor Kim. I do hope she and her family are safe now. I've seen the reports on the news here and it looks terrible. I send her good thoughts as well as to the other people who are being affected by this weather.

Kim & her family have been in my thoughts and I'm glad they are all safe.
Enough is enough for the people of Florida and all others who don't even get a chance to catch their breath before another disaster strikes. You all must be so weary & drained, mentally & physically. I wish you Kim & others the strength to pick up and move on and the hope that this is it for a long time to come.
